I'm pretty surprised this is what they decided to go with of all their shorts. Kemono friends subtle post-apocalyptic setting worked because it was a kind of ridiculous show, and its action scenes were able to cut a lot of corners, even look downright ridiculous at times, without detracting too much for the same reason. Making these elements the main feature of a series in the animation style they'te capable of sounds like walking a tight line, I'm not exactly certain yaoyorozu can pull it off, especially without Yoshizaki's input. I guess kemurikusa was kind of a pet project for Tatsuki?

I hope it doesn't become a super-serious show that has a lot of fighting in it, those two things would bring out the worst of 3DCG.

I hope it's more walking in a desolate world and finding artifacts than action. Cheeto and Yuuri did that great, and I liked their opinion being neither WE HUMANS ARE MONSTERS or being pretentious.
