Okay, I'll try to be a little less crackpot and try to respond calmly.
>First, the Japanese already know very well about capeshit
Right, it's not like they've never heard of Superman, Mickey Mouse, etc. I mean specifically the very recent sociopolitcal themes that have objectively driven capeshit into a corner because they were getting direction from the top to push it into everything. Were you aware of that happening as of late? That Thor is now, canonically, a black woman? You honestly may not be aware if you don't post outside of /a/ much. The ideological pandering was being pushed into absolutely everything they did.
>Second, they love the Sengoku era so much they're ready to take ANY premise no matter how silly.
That part of my comment was really more about my own personal tastes, not whether or not it'll sell well. I do not enjoy Umaru because I don't feel it is written well, for example. The characters, setting, storyline, etc. are all very lazily written and stupid. If this "Batumano in Japan" is going to be like a "Sharks...in SPACE!" sort of film, where something is happening "Just because," I am utterly uninterested, because it shows a lack of inspiration on the part of the writers, and I won't watch shounen just for the visuals. That is purely personal taste.
>Third, "freeing" the nation? This is Sengoku, not the Bakumatsu. Unification is the universal goal of the era
This is a little dense of you. Taken in its proper context, it's pretty clear I meant "freeing" the nation from the Joker's Tyranny. Did you watch the same trailer that I did? Did you not see the followers wearing Joker masks and calling him "Lord Joker" or whatever? Clearly the plot is about Joker vying for power and, quote, "Trying to change the history of Japan" probably for his (the joker's) own good, right? Or do you think that the villain is not trying to get himself more power?
So it may be pure crackpot to you, but I still take the fact, not opinion, that DC is extremely political, the fact that the Joker is trying to change the culture/history of Japan in the film, and speculate that it is very possible politics will find its way into the film because the naiton's political history is a central focus of the story, and Batman will be fighting to preserve it from the Joker's meddling. That still all sounds pretty reasonable to me, but I suppose the only way we will know is to wait and see.
