They really wanted to end it on a happy note. The last song was them smiling while holding back their tears. I think would have preferred a more emotional tearjerker, but if we get a movie, maybe it will deliver the sadness.

I am the only one who thinks they should have focused more on the Love Live itself than in all the drama?

This second season started good but after a while every single chapter was drama because DUUUH MUH SCHOOL, MUH SHINE, MUH METAL GEAR REFERENCES. It's not like I'm against it, but jesus christ EVERYTHING was just they crying and going all emotional as if they were about to die or something. It's just a school closing I understand SOME drama out of it but not all this shit.

I would have liked a bit more focus about their actual struggle (the entire message of the story is about that after all) with training, watching how good the competition is, realizing their limitations and having to overcome them (like the chapter Chika wanted to learn the jump for example).

I'm not saying it was bad but I didn't like the balance.

One of the problems for me was that from the start I knew that Aqours would win eventually. Any struggles they had came across as pointless because they were always going to overcome them.

Some of the character episodes felt a bit off to me. For example, as much as I would have liked the Yoshiko and Riko episode in any other show, in Sunshine it was somewhat unimportant to the story and didn't really develop either girl a whole lot. In general the character focused episodes didn't have much to do with the story and were merely vehicles for the girls to appeal to viewers instead of naturally develop as characters.

If it weren't for the girls themselves and the songs nobody would like the show so much.

It is an idol anime, those two things take a decent precedence in terms of importance. I assume what you are saying is that the story was lackluster when you break it down fundamentally.

So, if they keep following MGS, the next Love Live will be a prequel about the first idol competition that resulted in the creation of love live, and it will be the best one.

Aquors' storyline really was just like Raiden's, about trying to mimic someone and then eventually realizing they should do their own thing because they're also good in their own way. I suppose this is a somewhat common theme but god damn.

Boku/watashi don't work like he/she do in English. Boku is typically used by males but it's not explicitly male, and vice versa. Boku is not very masculine in the first place, you'll usually see younger boys or tomboyish girls using it. Ore and oretachi would be hard masculine, ore is more typical for adult men and you'll only rarely see some banchou or just generally tough female characters that refer to themselves as ore.

What catchphrases? Because they definitely wasn't coming from Ruby and You. The times they said their phrases could be counted on one hand and they were mostly all at the very end. Hanamaru and Yoshiko have a distinct way of speaking along with Mari and her engrish and you hear them a lot more because everyone but the second years are featured in S2 heavily.

I can understand complaining about You with her being a third wheel and all, but your complaints can be directed at Yohane and Zura, as they took quite a bit of screen time and contributed next to nothing outside of autism. The final episode was an appropriate ending, serving as both an honest recap of their journey and a conclusion.

Original LL season 1 was practically ruined across 3 episodes over Kotori and Honoka's fuckery, and S2's ending was about as good as Sunshine's S2, only that they had less to lose, meaning it could focus on them alone.

Oh come on, you know what the goal was and what they were doing for two seasons. It wasn't even subtle the way they did it with Aqours's failure after failure in the first season, third years' failed attempts, the whole zero to one idea, the defeat of Saint Snow, and the ultimate loss of their school. As opposed to LL and μ's battle for victory, LLS and Aqours was more about losing and moving forward. It ain't idol science dude.

At both of today's Aqours concerts in Shanghai, there was an organized group of Chinese "fans" in the audience that coordinated to fuck up call signs and use the wrong color sticks at key moments. It's considered very disrespectful to both other fans for who this might be a once in a lifetime event, and to the seiyuus since it can disorient them.

The staff seems to be troubled as well, since these events are filmed and later sold as merchandise.

There are rumors that lewd items were sent as gifts to the girls, but these are unconfirmed and presents are all screened by security anyway.

It was a Greek tragedy. Fate conspired against the girls at every turn, they were unable to protect what was important to them, however they still overcame it all and immortalized that they wished to protect in the halls of legends.

The final concert is even a deus ex machina to send everyone home happy and the final scene is a curtain closing.

I do think the director young director made rookie mistakes and dragged the drama out way to fucking long while ignoring important characterization You, Maru, Mari and Kanan all could have had better work done which we as fans have to fill in with the manga and SIF.

Watching the original LL makes this even more obvious. Though Sunshine was really great especially Season 1 it really isn’t on par with the original and I chalk a lot of that up to the director.
