All of the action is really quite hard to follow, so here's my pre-emptive interpretation:

Just as Schierke and Farnese nearly obtain the final piece to complete the Casca doll, a crude dream-manifestation of Femto and his monstrous minions appear. Dog-Guts then springs into action to protect the coffin containing Casca's doll and mote, as the mages summon more sand golems and an elemental spirit to help them do battle.

When Casca's coffin is threatened, Dog-Guts goes berserk and, with the help of Schierke, dons the Berserker Armor itself in order to effectively become the Beast of Darkness incarnate. The chapter ends as the real fight begins.

Really. With all the other media that just completely disappoints, you can tell Muria and everyone else is just working on the IP for a cash in. It really detaches me from the series when almost everything that surrounds it is just half-assed shit and disappointment. What restoration of casca's memory or final fight with Griffith at this point in time is gonna restore good will of fans from all the hiatuses and tonal shifts that has been going on for more than a decade? It's nice that it starting to "go" somewhere in these past chapters but the metaphorical candle has been burnt. The golems aren't really that cool and it's kinda shitty that all the demons are too shaded in the background so that you can't see them. hopefully the dog fighting will be cool....in the next 6 months.

Faster than a 7 year hiatus, but you're right. Anyone following at this point knows the deal and Muria would probably continue to work on hiatusing and not finishing Berserk even with a gun to his head.

These next few chapters will decide if Miura has anything left. The boat ride was him having no direction and no desire to finish. Now that the rides over, he either quits, dies, or writes it all off with some bullshit.

If this dream is supposed to be an allegory to reality, it's looking like it's Guts and Co. vs evil. And just like Bruce Campbell, Miura is fat, old and tired. Really don't think he'll last another 100 chapters of palling around with fairies, teaming up with Rickert and the Hindu bastard to fight Griffith.

I still say Miura needs to plan out the final arc and conclusion to Berserk if he hasn't already. It just needs to be a solid enough skeleton that someone else can finish when he eventually fucking dies before he finishes. George RR Martin has greater odds of finishing his series than Miura atm.
