Recently found Golden Kamuy and Azumi together. Haven't binge-read manga in a while, so it's making me feel real good especially since those series are fucking great. I'll be reading Enen no Shoubotai (or whatever it's called) after Kamuy. After that will be Oshimi Shuzo's discog (who is the OP author, just realized). He came out with a new series whose premise I don't know, but will be reading everything up to that. I hope they're all finished.

Any other solid authors to binge? Besides Hanazawa Kengo, Raiku Makoto, Satoshi Mizukami, Maybe, Asano, and Furuya Minoru. Junji wrote a lot of shit, I'm not sifting through his discog anytime soon to see what I haven't read yet.

Hiramoto isn't a huge fan of this. His Magnum Opus is Ore to Akuma no Blues, which got cancelled previously. When the Prison School anime came out, or around that time, he managed to throw that weight around to continue his magnum opus.

Actually it looks like it resumed in 2014, which would've been right around when the anime started production.

Past that, anything that deals with a vocation. I'd argue that Shokugeki no Souma, Dungeon Meshi, Bambino, and Golden Kamui all have an author with an extreme interest in cooking, and Golden Kamui also has an interest in native Japanese peoples. But hell, there's dozens of series of people having fun in their vocation. Tales of a Charcoal Burner comes to mind. Most Fighters show a lot of research going into it at least. There's also a couple of authors who don't do anything special but I think show a lot of heart in their work (Cool Kyoushinsha, Dowman). I'd point you to >>>/rec/ but I dunno if it's still kicking. I enjoyed Tsuyokute New Saga, it's more shonen-y than goblin slayer sadly but it's one of the closer things I've found in maturity to it. Several plotlines look like they're going to get ridiculous, something about shonenshit and cliches seem to rob a story of its story-ness it stops being about a goal and starts being about hitting certain marks.

Finished reading Ai-Ren and Kamisama no Iutoori (the "sequel" and prequel too).

Ai-Ren was nice but the whole thing would have been a lot better without the "what is currently happening with the world outside of the MC's bubble?" part that just felt like pretentious Evangelion level bullshit.
