Wizardry OVA. They only did one for the very first game, it was an hour long and had Werdna voiced by Raoh. It's not exceptional by any means (they even got the layout of floor 9 wrong when they exit the elevator, there should be a door on the left and the right instead there's only a door on the left) but it's a nice fantasy OVA from the times when fantasy anime was, mostly, not parody.

Don't even get me started. At one point one of the characters is wounded by the zombies and says his leg is numb (because zombies cause paralysis) and then when he gets healed with a spell the translator has a note that says that he's casting Latumofis, a spell that cures poison, when he would actually be casting Dialko, the spell that cures paralysis.

"the adventures of Kotetsu" just caue the mango is not translated and the 2 episodes got me interested.
And Plastic Little cause, dunno really, i went expecting something else. It feels like those B-tier saturday afternoon action flicks. I am aware that Urushihara only draws like 3 or 4 different female faces over and over, but there was something there to be exploited further, even if the setting was kinda generic. i would have settle for some more cheap sci-fi city adventures and what not.
No.768834
it felt like something in-between the start of Ah megamisama and Mamotte Shugogetten.
But with only to episodes it got nowhere.
With only 3 Tankoubons i assume it didn't got that far either.

Harbor Light Story: Fashion Lala
Sorta a prequel to Fancy Lala but completely different. It's basically loli Cinderella featuring disco and terrorism.
I miss the sentimental romance of this time period. The ending scene really touched me.

The TV series was good, but the OVAs and movies were GREAT. The difference between watching it once and feeling satisfied, and watching it over and over again and never getting tired of it. I just wanted more adventures of Lina and Naga getting mixed up in wacky shit. Not super serious great demon ancient evil threatens to destroy the universe shit, but crazy stuff like rival wizards fighting with giant dolls and bandits accidentally a retarded but invincible ancient machine.

Cool mech OVA by the guy who did the Starlight Angel section of Robot Carnival.
It ends on a cliff hanger and was never finished after one episode.

Blazing Transfer Student
The manga was written by the guy who would later write Aoi Honoo, which is about his time in college with Anno and the original GAINAX gang.
GAINAX made a OVA adaptation of the guy's breakthrough manga, which is a surreal comedic parody of Shounen of the time.

I miss the non-violent 80's OVAs more than the violent ones.
No.768988
It'd be nice to have some more of Angel Densetsu, since the OVA as it is really isn't anything more than an introduction to the manga. I also liked the art direction giving it a pretty distinctly bleak appearance making his internal monologue even more detached from the world he seemed to actually be living in, and skipping to the huge jump in art quality the manga reaches.

Funny thing about "Kotetsu no daibouken" is that its actually a hentai manga.
the creator is the same guy who made "Hyper Police".
What i heard long ago in some forums was that the guy with some animation studio was trying to sell Kotetsu as a normal show, just removing all the porn stuff. Ever since the OVAs were not really that succesful, the mango stayed hentai.
There are a couple of PC98 games of it

No wonder it failed it's crowdfunding. And only making $77 on patreon.
It also seems like a cute girl show you'd find in any season. Not one of the big shows, mind - one of the shows which just manages to get a thread on here but only 3 people post in it.
It was doomed to fail. A shame, but it was pretty damn obvious.

If you read the manga on their website, you can tell they were pretty passionate about it. I would have really liked the animu if it were 2D, but that costs more.
Abby best girl. She was obviously made to try and tap the gaijin market, but they failed to realize that first of all I don't think I've ever seen a blonde hair blue eyed person in San Francisco, and secondly, gaijin aren't into SoL idorus as much as nips are. They failed to understand their market. Most American fans don't even know what idols are, let alone the complex position of a chika idol (live idol, net idol, akiba idol, etc.)
It's far too niche of a thing here.
