Why are the upper levels more functional?

There was laundry done in the last fish episode but in in-story time that was several months ago. I dont think theres been evidence of them carrying out several identical outfits so we can guess Chii has been wearing the same panties for that long without getting even a stain on them. We didn't even get to see Yuu's panties because they are most likely filthy. Chii is the true goddess for such a feat and being perflat is confirmation of goddess status

The facility didn't produce fish anymore. That one fish that can't be killed because there would be no fish left can't have offspring. It will consume food, and require a constant supply of power to be kept alive.
With the resources the machine could get out of the facility a new potato farm or something else could be built, or repaired. It would have been logical to dismantle the facility if there was any hope for mankind. Now that the only maintenance bot is gone, the last hope has died.
There may have been a reasaon why it looked like a horse. Horses symbolize fertility, strength and progress, drawing the chariots of sun and moon in many cultures.

As for the supply of power, what else would it be used on? The potatoes that it isn't growing? The lack of heating for all the humans that aren't there? There are some humans left who can consume the fish, so there is a reason to kill and eat it.
There literally is no reason at all to kill a bot tearing down random facilities and building new ones. At least that fucker has a purpose for himself, while that fish just eats, shits and eventually dies.
But maybe that's it. Yuu and Chi are both represented by the different bots.
Chi cares about the past for some reason, while Yuu is living in the present. The caretaker bot is trying to preserve a fish that will eventually die, and the maintenance bot doesn't give a fuck and follows his own rules, as long as there are materials available he will build whatever he is programmed to build.

The episode was mega deep is a very subtle way. Like, what constitutes life. Yuu and Chi are more similar to the fish than the bots. They are just moving around trying to find food and some comfort... and the vauge sense that if the keep on moving the might find something, and they have.
But the bots are also representative of Yuu and Chi. The smaller bot is more like Chi, and the bigger bot more like Yuu. Yuu arbitrarily decides to destroy the big bot to save the fish and little bot, just like the big bot is destroying one facility probably to try and maintain or built another.

I will send it tomorrow, but I still need the address. I have decided to send it to the studio (so even if it won't reach her it will at least reach the people who helped make it), but their website is all moonrunes, so I got no clue where to send it to. The girls-last-tour.com website is useless to me as well. I looked around on Google maps, but can't seem to find them.
halp pls.
Also, there was an anon who offered to create an image I could add to the letter. If you are still around and you can give me a date when you are done, I can probably postpone it for a few more days if you absolutely need more time. However, I want this letter to get to her before christmas, and knowing how overburdened shipping (especially international) I doubt there is much time to waste I know doing creative work under time pressure is hard, especially so when you are going through a tough time. I can probably send the image to her later on if she actually replies, but that's a big IF, so it may be better if you can provide the image sooner rather than later. It doesn't need to be perfect either, you know she likes to do sketches.
If anyone would like to translate the (now final) version, feel free. I am not sure if I will find time to add it to the letter though:
Dear つくみず,
I am from a small group of people on the internet who appreciate your art very much. Together we post on an anonymous anime imageboard at 8ch.net/a and have fallen in love with your work.
Yuuri and Chito have moved us a lot, mostly because some of us are also very miserable. We notice a lot of sadness in your work, and we've come together to cheer you up and make sure you know that you are precious and that we love you very much! So here is this letter, from all of us to help warm you up this winter season. We will never meet, but in spirit, we will all toast a glass of wine with you this Christmas.
Please keep doing your best and don't ever leave us.
If you would be willing to answer some questions we have about your work, you can contact me by replying directly to this letter or by writing an E-mail to ryokou@8chan.co . I will forward their questions to you, and release your answers to the website mentioned above. Without condoning the project, the fact is that a physical letter is more sentimental than a tweet or email.
To be fair, this site (rather than cuckchan) has gotten a couple exclusive and interesting visitors, and while it is cool to have a sekrit club with cool visitors, everyone should be asking themselves a couple things:
1) If the self-promotion is worth rolling the dice on a normalfag invasion (especially on this board)
2) If self-promotion has any place in a letter intended to focus on and support someone else.
I think something like "small English-speaking anime forum" or " anime forum with <1k users" would do fine to express that small hovels on the internet are paying attention to her - I am sure she would be more attracted to those than larger ones anyway.

It's not worth it. Smug streams with 20 to 40 listeners is exciting enough for me. When r/a/dio posts a link here and outsiders make themselves known, I get scared of posting and want them gone.
>2) If self-promotion has any place in a letter intended to focus on and support someone else.
It doesn't have any place except for the line that reads "Sincerely (name)".
If it has to be a paper letter then do it right like others and I have said.

Fully seconding this, Anon here is completely correct. It's just a thank-you note, leave it at that.
Mind, I don't see a problem with including the URL, it's unlikely anything would happen, those thinking it'd open the floodgates are naive. Dear つくみず先生,
I am writing on behalf of a small western anime and manga community to tell you that many of the users on this website deeply appreciate your art. Some of us have experienced depression in the past, but seeing some of the works you have published so far, especially 少女終末旅行, cheers them up. They know they are not alone with their feelings, and would like to let you know the same.
Were your works influenced by Schopenhauer or „The doomed city“?
Please do continue your work. Many people from around the world wish you good luck and a merry Christmas.
Yours truly,

Case-of-Wine Anon here. Words of encouragement, questions and anything of that sort to Tsukumizu should just go through Twitter. From everything anybody can tell, Tsukumizu values her privacy so respect that.
If you send a letter to White Fox then it should be addressed to the entire studio, with a special shoutout to Tsukumizu, thanking them for their time and work. Besides it would be utterly bizarre for the studio to receive a letter addressed just to her with stuff related to depression.

Have none of you niggers considered how rude it is to a person to assume they're depressed, let alone suicidal? If I got a letter from total strangers telling me they saw my paintings, that I'm very depressed, and that I absolutely mustn't kill myself, I'd take it as an insult, best case scenario would be only being mildly weirded out.
Even if you're correct and the author is suicidal, unless she's flat out written it somewhere, it's probably not something she wants attention for. It's very uncomfortable and embarrassing when people try to analyze your private life through your artwork, it'll also definitely make it harder to produce art in the future, at least if you value your privacy. You'll find yourself feeling that if you draw this you might be exposing that, and everyone has things in life they'd rather not have exposed. This whole letter idea is one of the stupidest things I've ever read on here, so stupid that I was very reluctant to reply to it, as I wanted absolutely no association with it.

I highly doubt there ever were more than two or three people besides you who were for the idea, though it's very hard to estimate how many people are speaking to each other when they're all anonymous. I assume most of the people expressing dislike felt that way from the start. If you've ever accidentally let something rot, then been so disgusted by it you neglected to deal with it for days, because you'd rather pretend it doesn't exist, that's much the same idea. They may even have gone as far as to lose faith in humanity and withdraw from society. As they realize there are others here who feel much like they do, their faith is restored, or when they're forced to admit the rot will only get worse if not dealt with, they resolve themselves to try and deal with your abominable idea.

You generally don't refer to someone else in a polite context with second person pronouns. If you're addressing someone directly just use their name with a suitable honorific or something like スタジオWHITE・FOXの皆さん or something.
If you want to refer to their "art" or "work" you would use 作. Also may throw a に after that 本当.
You don't literally say "Continue doing good work" as an encouragement. It sounds like you're demanding it and it's rude as hell, though I'm not really capable of coming up with something more appropriate at the moment.

True. But he wouldn't give up the idea of sending the letter. So instead of just whining, we argued with him to rewrite it from the scratch, significantly reducing the amount of spaghetti. He removed the refrences to depession, he removed the questions, and most importantly, he removed all refrences to 8chan. Think of it as a tradeoff: instead of that 8chan namedrop potentially opening up the floodgates, or causing any sort of unwarranted attention causing the entire board to be shat up, only a tiny little thread was shat up, which is nothing, compared to the entire board. I think it's a small price to pay, relatively speaking.
Finally, he agreed to send it in a manner that respects the artist's privacy. Despite his autism, he took note of everyone's gripes with the disaster that was the original letter, and agreed to rectify it on virtually every point.
At this point, this no longer really concerns /a/, and whether or not he sends it, and how retarded it is is immaterial to the rest of us. Tragedy avioded. Now it's just a fanletter sent by a western fan whose weapons-grade autism, for all we know, has been disarmed, demilled, and rendered safe.

Some other anon had the theory that it's a certain kind of sinker that allows you to attach bait inside the cage like structure in the middle.
I personally believe that it is just a nice way to turn a bunch of useless scrap wire into something vaguely functional and beautiful.
She posted pic related quite some time ago, which shows something rather similar, but more intentionally shaped like a fish, so that makes me believe that it is not a bait attachment for fishing, but rather an artsy keychain thing Chi and Yuu somehowended up with. It also appears in the show on the keys to the Kettenkrad.

Yes. Today ended with chapter 24, by the non-tank numbering. Those things are chapter 28 I fucked up naming those files.
There are a few chapters not counted in that though. Bath, Beer, and House, I think they were. So we're actually at chapter 27 by the tankobon numbering, while those pages would be chapter 31, or possibly 32 if there's another extra chapter in between. In any case we're almost certainly getting it, and there's a decent chance they'll be the very last segment.

Something I find very weird is how they know about things like the earth and its rotation (even Yuu to some extent) and radio waves and all that but had no real concept of music and singing despite clearly having lived for at least a few years with people and their grandpa. The people around them must have sung or made music from time to time, it's such a basic thing, but they taught Chii about all this science stuff? Granted she could have read a lot of that in books she found.
Also anyone thinks it's weird how they have probably been on their way for a few years but until very recently had never come across those maintenance robots that supposedly keep the city going? Or maybe those two were simply the first two functioning ones and they never recognised the scrap as robots before.
I suppose it's kind of pointless to wonder about these things. It all is.
No.768604

I was wondering about that too. I suppose the in-universe explanation is meant to be Chii-chan's books teaching them about things but in reality it's probably just not something you're supposed to question.

It was the only one that still functioned. Maybe all of the robots were moved to an upper level before the lower level finally died completely. Maybe the lower levels was older and still required human input.
