What an old show this is. Chaotic century was better. New century is pretty generic shounen tournament/become best in the world stuff.

Chaotic Century had a way better story from what I remember and best girl Fiona. New Century was alright, but it was more a toy-commercial than it's predecessor.

Do you like 'Buy Our Toys' Shonen with absolutely no twists or surprises and the main girl being shit? If so this is the show for you

As others have said, it's a generic shonen tournament mecha show. Think G Gundam but with no frills or anything really over the top, besides the really dated CG Zoids that were clearly animated at a lower frame rate than the character animation.

More or less. For whatever reason it aired in America before Chaotic Century, which was better because it at least tried to have a compelling story.

I used to watch chaotic century as a kid, but I never kept up with it because I was in elementary at the time. Should I go back and watch it now even though it's 50 episodes?

New Century Zero couldn't live up to it's predecessor.

I rewatched this about a year ago. It was pretty poopy. As others have said, it's completely generic tripe played straight. I was particularly insulted at the final 5 episodes or so, which all of a sudden rammed the "plot" down your throat in a manner that I remember as outrageously unsubtle and stupid. Though, if you are still capable of turning off your brain and just mindlessly enjoying shounen CGI fights, then it's pretty fun. The last fight in particular expends a good bit on the CGI budget and ends up being pretty hype, if too short.

Chaotic Century was pretty much better in all possible ways. Did anyone watch the Zoids that came after?
