This was the second aspect I was considering. For starters, it would be an exaggeration to say that Natsumi only talks to him more than the other girls. In truth, she's basically the only one that talks to him. I can remember one occasion in season 1 when Koma-chan said anything at all to him. They announced they would do a second season if the nyanpasu counter reached one million. They put the counter up the day the last ep of first season ended and it hit 1M two or three days later. It took them a couple months to announce and then we waited almost two years for repeat.
I read the manga and at the pace they adapt they are going to need to get to volume 11 to have enough material. They might go to 12 since volume 10 works best as a stand alone and will likely be the next OVA.
