Why is Im@s as bad as it is? It's such a big franchise with a lot of money in it and they just can't deliver anything. Out of all the idol anime out there, it's the worst in almost every regard.

There must be something that is keeping them from translating the real games. They had no problem giving the west Viewing Revolution but I doubt Stella Stage or even the original games will ever come over.

I agree. The games are great, but they prioritize the 1-on-1 producer-idol relationship. It doesn't translate as well to an ensemble cast anime. They could have reworked it significantly, but they would have risked alienating the fans of the games.

That's why I think Love Live is genius. Each girl is fantastic on her own but even better as part of the group.

Idolmaster has always been about selling the music as much as the games, so licensing the music and voices would cost a fortune. Plus any Western localization company that could afford it caters to either macho dudebros or sensitive SJW faggots, both groups that absolutely hate Japanese idol culture.

I get why they'd be weary of releasing the console games outside, but you'd think they'd release the mobile rhythm games. Love Live is popular after all.

I guess it doesn't matter much since Namco basically owns every 2D idol franchise ever and gets profit off of it regardless.

The mobile games work with Google wallet and have plenty of online fan guides to install and play them, so any foreigners interested enough in the mobile games to actually pay money is probably already playing the Japanese version. Localizing the games would likely only increase Namco's operating costs and legal liability, for little to no profit.
