A wonderfully done bully story. Hina is such a great person. I wanted to pat her head for jumping the bitch. Hanakana did a great job with voicing her. This episode may end up being the whole show instead of shogi.

Its cute how fired up Rei is to do whatever he can for Hina. I was excited for a romantic confession but getting Akari's guilt confession was a surprise and not wholly unexpected.

The Hina antibully train is full of fuel and waiting to depart. Once she finds something to direct her anger into, I feel bad for whatever or whomever is in her way. Part of me wants her to completely lose it and beat the hell out of the bullies at Vivid Strike level. Thats not very Japanese, and for a show like this will never happen.

She comes to terms with how terribly she's treated Rei as well as her issues with abandonment and seems like she decides to stop seeing Gotou for good since she feels like she is detrimental to his happiness

I was expecting the newcomer finals to be more shounen and it was at first until Rei realized hes not in that kind of story. The victory was silent and emotional, I thought Rei lost and the suffering was going to get worse. Its great how Rei and Hina understand each other. The non-verbal communication of Japan is strong in these two. By the end of this season, be it 12 or 26 episodes, Hina needs to be newcomer queen or I'm going to riot.

Its so nice to see Hina smiling again. Really smiling this time because her life is at least somewhat together again. Also how much longer before we get ReixHina? Rei calls it loyalty only because he is clumsy with his own feelings.

Before that, Hina's hair style changed. Whether she is joining the bun team for a while, symbolism for overcoming her bully maybe, or just this once scene will be left to next week.

The egg autism is the comedy much needed after Hina's story ended and essentially the climax with Rei vs silent snow. It was like a fresh reminder of why all 2 of us are still watching. At least one of us has no clue how to play shogi either.

For those (that other guy) that still watch this, the olympics is already ruining anime because this show taking a 3 week hiatus (posted on february 1) and is going to start airing again on march 3.

It's to be expected since Sangatsu is broadcasted on NHK's main channel. Sport events are sadly seen as high priority by many national broadcasters.

At least the NHK's main channel has started a anime time slot (11pm) with Sangatsu no Lion and they are clearly interested in broadcasting/funding more anime.

Those rice dumplings are as easy to make as they say. Its entry level dessert cooking. I wish Chiho had a friend like Shirase (Antarctica) that could tell off Takagi again (after Hina). It seems the new homeroom teacher is going to screw over Takagi in every way he can though. Its going to take many years before Chiho doesn't freeze up like we saw. I hope we get to see Takagi suffer.

We continue towards a lovely happy ending. I hope this story never ends, at least not for another year so we get to see Rei graduate. I like how he aunt was thinking at first Rei is a "carnivore" when Hina is really the meat eater after taking on that much fried chicken and bullies.

Watched both seasons in the past three days. It's really great, lots of amazing characters, made me laugh quite a few times and sad probably even more often. Guess I'll be reading the manga where the anime left off tomorrow since it's 3 AM right now.

I don't even know how to play shogi.
