GK-M is good, but most people who buy from their either buy simple kits like Daibadi kits or obscure chink tools. A simple rule with recasts is the more complex the subject is, the more flaws a recast will potentially have. If you have the time and money, you can either prepare yourself for as bad a scenario of recast that you can handle, or do what hardcores do on tiny BBS communities and go to the really obscure recasters who specialize specifically in FSS stuff. Or you can skip all the hassle and see if the newer (post Batshu) Volks IMS kits have the Motor Head you're looking for. Unless it's something insane like the fucking Jade Mirage.

My Lum Nendo came in the mail a few days ago! Despite some difficulty with switching the faceplates (but I managed to fix it), she's one of the cutest purchases I've made. Her body is also great for customization and casting, if you're into that.

Even though a lot of people are unhappy about Nurse Style Galko's paint job, I PO'd her anyway. I somewhat agree that Aquamarine could've done better (particularly on her hair and cleavage), but as an unpopular opinion, her lips don't really bother me. I'm willing to look past that because nurses and gyarus tickle my fancy; also, we have 2 figures of Galko based on her manga adaptation, and it's nice to have another figure from her anime adaptation besides her Nendo (which I own).

Furthermore, I'm debating on preordering this Bulma. I'm not crazy about the DB Gals line to begin with (then again, it's a fanservice line, so what are you gonna do), but this is one of my favorite outfits of hers, not to mention that the pose is much better than her bunny figure. I also like the pearly translucence that lets me see some of her legs.
The rest of the DB Gals are still better than about 95% of Dragon Ball figures out there (your mileage may vary for jointstuff), which still isn't saying much honestly.

Korbo and Pola arrived today.
Korbo has a lot of fine detail, comes with a sneaky, smug, and abashed face, with the accessories being a cute hat, a mug of booze, an apple, and the usual selection of arms. There's a lot of fine detail in Korbo's design that my pictures absolutely don't give the sculptor credit for. Her bag of wheat is actually a separate and tiny piece, which is nicely detailed but is quite annoying since you have to keep it in place when separating the torso and head pieces. The hat is also a little fiddly since it's not actually attached by anything other than the pliability of the plastic. The back stand is also really well designed compared to other Nendos with long hair. I think they've finally solved the problem with this three-articulated piece, but a little too late for Homu.
Pola came in a huge box, noticeably bigger than any of the other Nendo boxes I have. The inside is actually made of two clamshell-type containers instead of just one, just to fit all the crazy accessories. Aside from her crazy articulated ship backing (which is about as wide as three nendos) she's also got a bunch of bottles of booze, a cute little bar, a plate of pasta, and a tiny glass of wine. She comes with lewd, shy, and drunk faces too. There's so many small accessories that the packaging actually has tape over them so they don't come loose during packaging or storage, which is a nice touch. To accomodate her fucking enormous ship parts, she gets a 7x7 base plate instead of a 5x5. I decided not to use the ship parts for now because they actually have really tiny articulated propellers the size of a grain of rice that can pop off and immediately get lost. Plus they're huge. The base plate is so huge that you can fit two other Nendos on it instead, so I did just that.

Anyone who can give some advice on buying Dakis? The buyfag guide is pretty old and the updated one is exclusively for non bootlegs. Going down that rabbithole of proxy services, and auctions to buy covers made years ago. Its just too much effort.
My last cover is a 2way tricot from Hobbyheart, and it was pretty good felt smooth picture was high quality. Eventually it got bad pilling have used it for about 3 months now and feel the need to get a new one for that fresh feeling.

Hobbyheart is trash Anon. They raise the prices really high because they take advantage of novice Western weebs and their reputation as an entry level daki bootlegger. Good daki covers don't pill at all or in years. If yours pilled in 3 months (assuming 2WT), then it's trash. Unfortunately my daki dealer disappeared after 2 years of wonderful service (may his soul rest in peace), but I've really liked CuddlyOctopus. They have a very good selection of dakis and the material is really durable soft 2WT. All of their stuff is $72 including S&H. They also print your own images but they charge $15+ for that but I've never tried that service from them before. Go czech them out.
For filling, you are gonna get charged premium for that extra 10cm to fit your cover. Look around for the cheapest.

2way is nice and smooth and starts out cool. I also like the "japanese textile" It is a little rougher but seems to hold up a lot better than 2way. It also does not just slip around on the pillow as much. I sleep with one 2way and two jap textile. If it is hot i tend to keep the 2way close if it is cold the jap textile does a good job of keeping me warm. Jap textile also heats up to body temp under an electric blanket while 2way seems to resist heat a bit and cools down quickly.
As for the pillows I just use the shorter pillows sold locally and give them a good fluffing once the cover is on. There tends to be about 3-4 inches near the bottom of overhanging cloth. This anon >>743647 might have the right idea as long as you keep an eye on the pillow. The stuffing will wear the pillow if it is anything like the smaller head bamboo pillows. I have two and one is starting to wear and i can see the stuffing trying to scrape its way through. That stuffing might be able damage your daki if it breaks through but as long as you wash your sheets and have regular daki wash day you should be able to catch that way before it can damage your daki.

How important is it to actually shave your neckbeard daily to avoid damage to your daki? I have been pretty lenient with that, and it might be why my cover is all fluffy from pilling in the area I rest my head. The picture still looks clear no disruptions but the surface is like fluffy instead of smooth.
After reading up quite abit, ordering official dakis from nipland seems too fucking complicated and expensive for me. So its between bootlegs and cuddlyoctopus for me. Ill try ordering a cover or two from Cuddly to see how they are. If I do end up going back to bootlegs for the wider variety, are there any suggestions for where to buy from? That guide posted earlier is outdated and as stated the vendors have all closed shop.

The quality of the material is more important than your beard. Now of course if you are sporting a steel wool neckbeard you probably should shave but the worse that can happen is you get annoying hairs woven between the daki which you can pull out later with ease. What you should really watch out for is your nails. Especially your toenails. Even with my most durable Peach Skin covers, sharp or pointy nails can easily scratch or gash the cover if you jerk your leg at night. But again, good durable materials should minimize this from happening. If you are autistic about your nails like me, you can try really quickly scratching your bed sheet with your fingernails to smooth them out right before sleeping with the daki.
All dakis degrade with time but they should last you a an ignorable amount of time (years). That's why durability is the most important aspect of a daki when I look for a dealer. From my experience, the average chink will make materials that last you 1~3 years before they turn into a mess of pilled shiet. Shjie (god rest his soul) and now CuddlyOctopus are really durable. I'd guess 5+ years. My legit dakis from Nippon are of course also extremely durable but I haven't had one for long enough to guess how long the fabric will last. Probably around the same long time. When I started dakifagging a while ago, I was worried that in the future all of my dakis would be worn out but really if you have more than 1, they will last you quiet a long time. Maybe even longer than what I said. Think about it. Say 4 dakis and each 5 years, that's 2 decades of warm cuddling with cute girls. Fuck, my grandparents still use their ancient cushions from the 60s.
I like to always shower right before bed to enjoy a luxurious warm cuddly time with my waifu also to keep her clean. Although I do clean them regardless once every couple months with cold water and laundry powder. Looking for a good dealer is a long and somewhat expensive process. Buy from a few, find which is the best and repeat. Trial and error Anon.
