In terms of quality the artwork is not that bad at all. Some of the scans are pretty shit but others are fine. The best parts are the interactions between the characters. The best manga so far is the Twilight Princess one, because its 25 chapters in and Link hasn't even left for the second twilight zone, and its not filled with shit filler either. Link has a good backstory but a shinji complex and Midna is given more (read?)screen-time.
The worst one by far has to be part 2 of OoT's manga, because the author rushes quite a few things, but overall its still not bad, and the Dark Link fight is pretty damn good.

Anyone know 'this' series? I read it randomly about a year ago. The premise was that the main character is a young oni girl, with horns, that comes down from the mountains and starts to live with the family of a girl she befriends. The story had a sort of fish out of water premise and had a rural setting, feelt similar to Non Non Biyori. Also the oni girl spoke very little and apart from her horns, she looked just like a normal human.

Inflation/Deflation is given by the relation between the 1. Amount of available currency; against the 2. Amount of Products and Services.
What happened in Roman history was that, as they grew, they also conquered land and Gold/Silver, which meant that they were in equilibrium regarding 1 and 2.
When the conquering stopped, and so the amount of influx of Gold/Silver into Rome, and actually Gold/Silver started to outflux from it, a massive Deflationary crisis started to happen in the Empire.
The Romans then realised what is the true nature of Money: It's not a Commodity, much less rare and useless ones such as Gold and Silver - and in fact, the lowest inherent value the symbolic vessel of a currency has (such as paper), the best it is.
So, what they did? They tried to induce Inflation by removing amounts of Gold and Silver from Coins but letting them Retain their Symbolic Values.
Lets say:
There are 100 Gold coins in the Empire.
10 Dollars = 1 Gold coin = 10 grams of Gold
Which means that, with 1000 grams of Gold, you have 100 Coins.
Due to an unfavourable import/export ratio, the amount of Gold coins available was decreasing, which means, money was disappearing.
Now, what the Romans did was:
10 Dollars = 1 Gold coin = 2 grams of Gold
Lets say the amount of Gold in the Empire stayed the same for the sake of the exercise.
Then, with the 1000 grams of Gold in the Empire, instead of only 100 Gold coins, there were now 500 Gold coins - they multiplied by 5 their riches, specially because the denomination of value remained the same (1 Gold coin = 10 Dollars).
In a normal scenario, this would create massive inflation, but they were in a mortal deflationary crisis and what they did was perfect.
There was only one problem: People noticed. And they didn't understand what money was in reality, they thought Gold was money because "magic", and when they saw their coins getting less and less Gold, they simply stopped spending them for fear of losing their "fortune" and started bartering.
The economy of the Empire collapsed along with it.
This is 1 of the 20 reasons the Roman Empire felled.
No.745817
>>745810
The Spanish case was the exact opposite to the Roman one, it was an hyperinflation caused by too much Silver, not in equilibrium with the Amount of Products and Services of their economy.

What happened with Rome is that the economy was largely based on slavery and war slavery at that. Nobody worked in Rome... even the plebeians didn't actually work.
Basically as long as the wars went well, the roman economy was going well.
But the Empire reached critical mass, they couldn't conquer more land, most people around them were either friendly or in a cold war state.
Price of slave gradually increased, amount of taxes gradually decreased because less and less grain was produced.
They tried to stop it with two measure the first was bound land and not slaves-peasants (which created the legal basis for serfs that lasted millennia) which only slightly decreased the decay rates and then inviting free men from the friendly populations of the borderlands to populate the vast but largely empty arable lands they had (the franks being the most notorious example) creating the other long lasting status of "free farmers".

I've played around with Hugo, but there are no simple, out-of-the-box themes with stuff like Photoswipe to conveniently read online. I had to heavily edit one to strip it of bloat and add easy image hosting, and even then it looks shitty and has bugs. I might make a theme once I finish the remaining infinite backlog of things I promise to make, but this angers me so much I'll promote it to the top. Even then you still have to generate or edit each static page. I made a batch script to do this but it's far from perfect.

Dr. Stone is so fun to read. They pulled the evil/mad scientist thing perfectly for Senkuu, but also managed to make him actually a good guy, and those things don't clash with each other at all, they complement each other nicely, even. He's like a chuuni except he isn't because he does everything he says he'll do, he's also kind of an anti-hero but he isn't because he doesn't do anything questionable, he just does his mean spirited LARPing thing (like in the last chapter, using the chemicals to scare Suika), but I'm pretty sure he's 100% self-aware that he's LARPing in a way and just does it for fun.

>Then again, he did say in an interview that his next work was going to be done at a pace he was comfortable with
This is pretty much the case for me, so far he's been taking his time with each release with frequent breaks in between, which I think is for the best since I wouldn't want the content to feel rushed for the banal commodity of periodical releases.
>>752068
He himself said during an interview shortly after Punpun had ended that DDDD was a pace changer for him, he made a conscious effort not to follow along the lines of his previous work (even though he can't help it sometimes). Think of it as something simile to FLCL, where the same staff that had worked on EVA and the EoE got together to do a stress relieving project of sorts.
>>752098
I'm more keen on an OVA myself, since I doubt the budget would be abundant in any case, at least all the effort could go into one good piece instead various watered down ones. Anyhow the deal breaker for me would be Asano's participation, if he's not in it I'd rather it remained as a manga alone.

Not a lot of world building at this point so we will have to wait and see where hungry girl will lead him to.
