I hope they got all the context exposition out in this first episode, since it was pretty slow. The preview for next episode looks fun. Also going by the ending the human characters might be more relevant than I'd prefer, but at least they seem to be fun, so I'm not too negative about that.

It already happened that night, he even got nightmares about it.

I was surprised that Miyuki Sawashiro voiced Akine, I can usually spot her voice. Anyway I'm keeping my eye on this one, it seems like it might be fun.

Like so.
Thankfully he returns to the apartment, but even then it's not so much about the youkai as about him discovering a grimoire and training to become a magician. His first case is a teacher who loathes 3DPD because of a completely legit incident. He thinks teach is possessed into being violent, but it turns out he's just that bad a person and he gives up.
It's not completely uninteresting, but the story can definitely get grating.

They do, but according to legends it just varies, like a man of great caliber may be able to out drink an Oni, a kid may throw the bottom back against a Kappa but out this aside and the Lord Nurarihyon walks in front of you? No.744464
>>744340
She wasn't even elitist, just a very frustrated tryhard. They mentioned that she might not even understand the things she tries to impose.
My guess is that she tried to fit with regular topics and everyone ignored her, then started moving further into more obscure topics, but people still ignored her. Some people are just like that, destined to be ignored and swiped aside no matter how much effort you put in, she better learn to enjoy her shit alone or start preparing a rope.

No.749660
At first I thought sensei was being a cunt on purpose, but maybe she is just that dense. Autism-chan got rightfully told, if she's not going to participate then why is she going to the club in the first place? If she really accepted the club is not what she expected she should just leave and keep threads about anime nobody watches alive by herself on the internet

No.749686

My guess is that she's an eternal misfit who keeps forcing herself to belong without really trying to adapt, and because she seems unable to understand what she's doing wrong she gets frustrated and cries.

Of course it goes like that, it always goes like that. Chiaki takes it easy as long as everyone behaves properly, but the moment someone betrays his trust and he tries to set shit straight they turn against him. What is more, they side with Aoki, who no one liked before, but suddenly she's best sensei because she enables the students misbehavior.
Other than that, Banzai! Kanpai!

No.763528

Yeah. Even in high school, I could have seen through this obvious charade. Just for the convenience of the plot and moral grand standing with obvious resolution. The show seems to get sidetracked a lot.
I've been chugging along but I've been pretty disappointed with the second half. Actually, it's been going downhill since the first ending which was when he left the youkai apartment, faced real life and returns to the apartment. That would have been the more cliche ending where most series ends on but it kept going and it feels like a completely different series than what was advertised, the "Youkai Apartment Life".
Better episodes are when it focuses on the Youkai apartment. Terrible everything else when dealing with real life. Feels like it wants to shift into a battle anime with the petits but it's still stuck in the transitioning phase. They still haven't solved the sulking bitch problem. It feels like they're actively ignoring it and the prolonged response to it has made watching the show aggravating. With 3 episodes left, it looks like all 3 characters problems will be solved, maybe.
I wished it had stayed more youkai apartment hi-jinks with some real life problems. More episodic. If it has to be a longer arc, make it more related to youkai because we hardly know these apartment living people beyond the bare minimum. Not sure if the manga got beyond this slump because the anime feels lost in what it wants to be to me. Adding too much and yet achieving so little.
No.763530
>>763528
I think it isn't so much battleshonen it wants to be, it just tries to figure out ways of delivering some moral messages with everything. Always these arcs end with goshujin-sama spelling out this or that. They're not bad messages as such, but it's altogether kind of hamfisted.
No.763929
>>763528
>With 3 episodes left
It's actually 4 episodes left, but I agree with your post.
It feels like they didn't really know what they wanted to do after the OP change.
I was expecting the sulking bitch problem to be fixed the second she was introduced but they just kept being sidetracked for reasons.
If anyone has read the manga, is this an adaptation issue or is the manga the same way?

No.768287
What was the problem there with telling everyone what actually happened? That shitty teacher would be better off suspended, it's not like her impromptu mental support circlejerk was a good way of dealing with those girls anyway. Inaba even avoided leaving his prints on the knife.

It was fun to watch. I love how there was not single episode without kanpai, they put a lot of diligence in that.
Playing the OST from the first cour is always a nice touch, though it would've been awkward to have the second ending play 3 times during the episode.
No.773745
It was kinda nice, with some ups and downs. This last episode was as though they had no material left, or just didn't want to adapt any more, and made up a bunch of shit to fill 20 minutes.
