SecDef Keeps Military Stop-Movement Order in Place After Review

The Defense Department has yet to figure out how permanent change-of-station moves will be conducted this summer when and if the stop-movement order, which currently runs through June 30, is lifted, Pentagon chief spokesman Jonathan Hoffman said Friday.

Defense Secretary Mark Esper recently reviewed the June 30 order but came to no decisions, Hoffman said at a Pentagon briefing.

Esper and other officials "did not make a determination to modify or lift the order, and the order is still in place. At the same time, we haven't made a decision to extend it," Hoffman said.

The novel coronavirus pandemic, and the shifting restrictions and guidelines in various jurisdictions to prevent its spread, have vastly complicated the DoD's approach to the peak summer moving season, he added.

U.S. Transportation Command has to take into account local and state restrictions in arranging PCS moves, Hoffman explained. As an example, "we can't move somebody from California to South Carolina if the sending state has issues or the receiving state does."

The DoD also must consider the ability of localities to test for and treat COVID-19, and whether military families arriving back in the States from overseas might have to face extensive screenings or quarantines, he said.

Hoffman noted that waivers and exemptions to the stop-movement order continue to be approved by individual commands, particularly for deployments within combatant commands and basic training.

In a virtual town hall meeting Thursday from the Pentagon, Ramon Colon-Lopez, senior enlisted adviser to Joint Chiefs Chairman Gen. Mark Milley, and Air Force Master Sgt. Jason France, the senior enlisted leader of TRANSCOM, took questions from service members.

Colon-Lopez said the DoD will continue to evaluate and review the stop-movement order. "Every 15 days, we're conducting a review to make sure that the implementation of practices makes sense," he said.

"And we're taking a common-sense approach to everything that we're doing with regards to the restrictions imposed by COVID-19. Whether it's going to be extended or stopped, it is yet to be determined," Colon-Lopez added.

France said TRANSCOM has told movers that they must adhere to Centers for Disease Control and Prevention guidelines while working in service members' homes.

"Those measures include face coverings, minimizing crew size to enable social distancing, the fact that crews must practice good hygiene, and they also must routinely clean frequently touched surfaces in our service members' homes," he said.

Well, Jesus starts his ministries in Matthew while talking to the disciples of John…yes John the Baptist’s disciples. US ambassador suggests Poland might take nukes

Responding to talk among German politicians about the country potentially asking the US to stop deploying nuclear weapons there, the US Ambassador to Poland, Georgette Mosbacher, suggested on Friday that Poland might be willing to host them instead.

Rolf Mützenich, the Acting Chairman of the Social Democratic Party’s (SPD) parliamentary bloc, stated in an interview earlier this month that it is time for Germany to consider asking the US to remove its nuclear weapons from the country, as previously reported by Voice of Europe.

Although Mützenich’s comments were criticized by representatives of other parties in Germany, other SPD leaders supported him. As the SPD is currently the second-largest party in the country, ruling in coalition with Angela Merkel’s Christian Democratic Union, his words were taken seriously. On February 28, 2020, Vimeo arbitrarily deleted my channel ‘Sayed Hasan‘ which, since the deletion of my Youtube channel in December 2017 (followed by my Facebook pages in May 2019), published my French subtitled videos —extracts from speeches from Hassan Nasrallah, Ali Khamenei, Vladimir Putin, Bashar al-Assad, alternative anti-imperialist documentaries, Al-Mayadeen or Russian TV News Bulletins, etc. Thus, two years and two months of work, 400 videos posted and 600,000 views, which is not negligible in view of the fact that Vimeo is marginal vis-a-vis the giants Youtube or Facebook and their quasi-monopoly, went up in smoke.

This is not Vimeo’s first act of censorship. In June 2019, the Project Veritas account was banned following the publication of its exclusive investigation into Google’s ideological censorship, the first part of which I captioned.

Iraq launches massive operation against Daesh near Syria border

Iraq’s Security Media Cell announced the beginning of the counter-terrorism campaign, dubbed Operation Al Jazeera Lions, on Sunday.

“Under the supervision of the Joint Operations Command ‘Operation Al Jazeera Lions’ was launched this morning to monitor Al Jazeera desert north of Anbar governorate, south of Nineveh governorate, and west of Salahuddin governorate, reaching the international borders with the Syria,” it said in a statement carried by Shafaaq news agency.

The campaign, it added, will be conducted on 11 fronts with the participation of military commanders, tribal forces and Popular Mobilization Forces — known as Hashd al-Sha’abi, under the air cover of the Iraqi Air Force.

The statement added that the new military operation is aimed at enhancing security and stability in those areas while chasing terrorists and arresting them.

Nevada Dem Steven Horsford admits affair with former Harry Reid intern after he was exposed in 'Mistress for Congress' podcast

Horsford confessed to a past extramarital affair involving a 21-year-old UNLV student, who claims he provided "financial support" over the years

Nevada Democratic Rep. Steven Horsford admitted that he engaged in "a previous relationship outside of my marriage, over the course of several years." The allegations of the affair between Horsford and the former intern were first presented in a podcast series titled "Mistress for Congress."

Horsford, who has been married since 2000 and has three children, confessed that he had an affair with a woman in a statement released to the Las Vegas Review-Journal on Friday.

"It is true that I had a previous relationship outside of my marriage, over the course of several years. I'm deeply sorry to all of those who have been impacted by this very poor decision, most importantly my wife and family. Out of concern for my family during this challenging time, I ask that our privacy is respected," he Horsford said.

Gabriela Linder revealed that she is "Love Jones," the pseudonym of a person who hosted the "Mistress for Congress" podcast, "an audio memoir told week by week, of a young woman's affair with a sitting congressman, that began in 2009 and would span over a decade."

Linder told the Las Vegas Review-Journal that the relationship began in 2009, when she was a 21-year-old senior at UNLV, and he was the 36-year-old majority leader of the Nevada state Senate. Linder claims that Horsford "used his status as an older, powerful man to take advantage of her and control her."

Linder was an intern to former Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.) in 2009.

Linder alleges that she and the congressman, who represents Nevada's 4th congressional district, were engaged in an on-again, off-again sexual relationship that happened from 2009-2010 and then again from 2017-2019.

Linder said she never worked for Horsford, but claimed on the "Mistress for Congress" podcast that he provided job referrals and "financial support" over the years. Linder said that Horsford filmed a segment for her young son's YouTube show using his congressional staff.

Linder also alleges that Horsford discussed leaving his wife for her, but said he couldn't do so amid the 2020 election.

Linder suggested that Horsford resign. "He obtained this position under false pretenses that he was a family man and man of God. He should take a step back, alone, and if people are satisfied, then he can come back into politics," Linder said.

Lisa Song Sutton, the Republican challenger for Horsford's seat, called on him to resign and for a House Ethics Committee investigation.

British ship comes under attack off the coast of Yemen

According to the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO), the incident happened at 12:30 GMT. The organisation advised extreme caution to any vessels transiting the area.

A vessel came under attack in the Gulf of Aden on Sunday, the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations (UKMTO) said on Sunday.

“Vessels transiting the area are advised to exercise extreme caution”, UKMTO said in a warning notice on its website. The attack happened at 1230 GMT, it said.

According to the coordinates given by the agency, the incident occurred offshore of Yemen’s port of Mukalla.

The UKMTO provided no further details regarding the incident.

According to maritime security firm Dryad Global, this was the ninth reported incident in the Gulf of Aden this year.

Last Sunday, at least 19 people were killed and 15 more injured after the Iranian Navy frigate Jamaran accidentally struck the Konarak general-purpose vessel during live-fire exercises near the Gulf of Oman.

BOMBSHELL: Mike Flynn’s Name Might Never Have Been Masked In The First Place

The revelation that dozens of Obama officials sought to unmask the identity of Michael Flynn was definitely a bombshell that raises a ton of questions, but according to National Review’s Andrew McCarthy, there’s a huge hole in the story that has so far been missed.

Based on the unmasking list declassified by acting-DNI Richard Grenell, McCarthy says there’s no evidence of any request pertaining to the December 29, 2016, call between Flynn and then-Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak. “Where is the record showing who unmasked Flynn in connection with his fateful conversation with Russian ambassador Sergey Kislyak? There isn’t one.”

According to McCarthy, the evidence suggests that Flynn’s call with Kislyak was likely not recorded by the FBI, but a different agency. “I suspect that’s because General Flynn’s identity was not ‘masked’ in the first place. Instead, his December 29 call with Kislyak was likely intercepted under an intelligence program not subject to the masking rules, probably by the CIA or a friendly foreign spy service acting in a nod-and-wink arrangement with our intelligence community.”

One theory is that Ambassador Kislyak was routinely being surveilled by the FBI and that Flynn was simply caught up in that surveillance, but McCarthy does not buy the theory. “If it were true, there would be a record of Flynn’s unmasking. DNI Grenell has represented that the list he provided to Senators Grassley and Johnson includes all requested unmaskings of Flynn […] Yet, it appears that not a single listed unmasking pertains to the December 29 Kislyak call,” he explained.

“There are no unmasking requests on December 29, the date of the Kislyak call.
