Listen, some of you need to step back from your metaphorical “moon landing” theories and touch some grass.
On April 29, USAACE leadership had a meeting where it was briefed that $130m was taken out of the budget and flights would soon be grounded. That’s not speculation.
It was then sent out to some people (clearly not everyone, because many are saying it’s not true and they haven’t been told anything) in an email from a guy who had “Fort Rucker” in his signature block instead of Fort Novosel. Apparently that was the smoking gun to debunk the email and call it (literally) Russian disinformation. I’m sure there couldn’t possibly be a salty warrant who said “eff that, I’m not calling it Novosel” anywhere on the installation…
Regardless, here’s a memo from M1, the contractor for maintenance. I don’t know why USAACE is denying this is happening. They haven’t denied the email though. Knowing how big this story would be, I made sure to release the email to substantiate what I was told by other members within the community.
Not sure what else to tell you. They’ll either find funding and keep flying or they won’t, and May 15 will be the last day.

The Tularosa Basin Regional Dispatch Authority has a mandatory evacuation alert in place for the area of Sacramento Drive and Paradise Valley Drive in Timberon due to a “very large wildfire.” The Otero County Sheriff’s Office said the village is being evacuated.
New Mexico State Forestry said the fire is 50 acres in size and that crews are making progress on containment.
Cloudcroft Municipal Schools said the Timberon bus will not run on Friday. The pickup/reunification site for these students will be in the Middle School Commons by immediate family or those listed as an emergency contact. Identification will be necessary to release these students.

The Berks County DA’s Drug Task Force with the Philadelphia DEA arrested a man who is accused of selling and transporting illegal drugs.
Ramon Alberto Jimenez-Merejildo, 35, was charged with possession and delivery of a controlled substance, possession with intent to deliver and possession of drug paraphernalia.
On Tuesday, Jimenez-Merejildo traveled to Berks where he was arrested. Authorities found 106 "bricks" of fentanyl and heroin in his car.
The DEA obtained a search warrant for his home in Philly where they found: 257 bricks of fentanyl/heroin, $3,407, 200 grams of bulk fentanyl and a digital scale.
A search warrant was obtained for a 2nd location in Philly where authorities found: 16,700 packets of fentanyl/heroin; 11.5 kilograms of bulk fentanyl.
