Definitely not.
SOVL Eater had a lot of original ideas, you could feel that the author tried wacky things even if it made the story feel directionless from time to time. The characters were way better and deeper despite being more carooney, they embraced their silly individuality and it made it easier for the author to use them in the plot and develop them.
And although the world building seemed more refined and planned in Fire Force because the author had more experience, it also felt stiffer. And the plot was way more boring. It literally brought nothing new, whereas SE had an interesting roster of 3 wielders and their weapons who didn't have any less character. The dynamics between them allowed a greater diversity of tense situations the author could use to develop the characters and their relationships.
The religious undertones were cringe because Nippon can't into religion (Air Gear did it better)
The charm of some characters in FF relied a lot on fanservice whereas in SE it was always a joke that came on top of already developped characters (Blair's catfight). The torn clothes in FF felt so force and awkward, ugh.
This actually transpires in the discussions about both series, FF threads feel so empty apart from a few poster fetish posting.
It's also impressive how bad the SE anime botched the ending
