This is technically on a highway but there are stretches, especially late at night, where there is no one for a long time. No other cars, no buildings, just trees and a road barely big enough for you.

>grab my sleeping bag from the trunk and put it in the backseat

>say goodnight to racoon before turning the murder weapon into a bedroom

>warm body on a cold night causes a lot of fog on the windows

>normally fall asleep fast but a backseat isn't luxary

>suddenly hear shit from the woods off to the right of the car

>muffled but definitely something moving around

>don't think anyone lives out here but a small town is like 15 minutes away so its possible

>I dont own any weapon because I'm too poor to rob

>just hold still and try to listen, too dark to see anyway

>thing circles my car sniffing loudly

>pretty sure its not a human now

>it eventually gets to where the racoon is

I'm not an outdoorsman but that was unlike any animal I heard and it left a good dent in my car. Not exactly paranormal but spooky to me. I don't park along that stretch of highway anymore.

I have a couple odd stories of things that seemed kind of odd.

The first happened about a year or so ago I think. My boyfriend and I were on our way home from the movies. We decided to take a little back road that goes through the woods to get home that night. It's a pretty quiet area, not many houses and next to no cars at night. A couple minutes after turning onto that road we were talking about the movie and I had turned my head back to face the road. As soon as I turned my head I saw something swoop down from the trees right in front of us to the left and into the branches of the trees on the other side. I have no idea how to describe this thing. It was big, much bigger than any owl or flying animal I had seen around here. It also looked like it had leathery skin, no feathers and I don't remember seeing any kinda of hair or fur either. It looked like it had wings, possibly bat like. It also looked like it was a fleshy color, but slightly purple. I only saw it for a couple seconds, but there is no way I can forget seeing that. I didn't see what the head looked like, it went by too fast. I turned around in my seat to look behind us as soon as I lost sight of it as it went over the car and it was gone. I turned back to my boyfriend and he asked me what the hell it was and that he had seen the same thing I did. We both were a little spooked so he sped up a little and hurried home. I didn't go down that road again for a while if I could help it.

The next one happened about a month ago. It was in the same general area as the previous story, but on a different road. I was with my boyfriend and a couple of good friends. We were heading to the store and it was already dark out. We were all chatting and having a good time. We pass the last couple houses before another small stretch of woods and as we pass on of the streetlights my boyfriend tells us all to look at the edge of the woods. He sounded pretty spooked so we all looked but didn't see whatever he saw before we turned the corner and the area was out of sight. We asked him what he saw and he told us that it looked like there was what looked like a deer just standing there on the side of the road, but it had what he assumed was blood all the way down the front of it coming from it's mouth and it looked messed up. One of our friends suggested that maybe it had been hit by a car and I agreed. But he was insistent that it didn't appear like it was injured by a car and it looked like it had flesh in/or hanging from it's mouth. He sounded serious and he is a pretty skeptical guy, so I don't think he was lying about what he had seen. We all looked for it on our way back home, but didn't see it again.
