Ask a bored, slightly buzzed fae with an internet connection anything.
Picture not really related.
A few things before you ask by the way;
I can't lie, but I'm not compelled to answer, though my lips are loose at the moment so have fun.
I don't know how human magicks work, I can do my fae stuff but humans work differently so I can't actually teach you anything, I can explain how my stuff works and maybe if you're smart you can reverse engineer it but I wouldn't risk it, feel free to ask how my stuff works though.

Thanks for being here! I have a lot of questions, I hope it's not too much.
Why can faeries travel from their world to ours but we can't do the opposite? There are stories of humans travelling to the faerie world but it's always an accident or they were brought there by the faeries. I've always dreamed of exploring another world.
How does your society work? Do you have to work to live? Is there crime in your world? How do you reproduce?
Can a human learn the faerie language? Do you guys have books? How does your alphabet look like?
Are faeries immortal or do they just live longer than humans? Do you believe in life after death? Do you have a religion?
Do faeries like humans? Fear us? Hate us?
No.30376
>>30373
No problem.
The travel thing is portals, also it's not really another world it's just this one, but hidden areas. We used to disguise the portals as the circle of mushrooms thing but everyone knows about that, probably still some lying around to be fair.
As for wanting to explore it your eyes don't really work like that, it wouldn't be as fun for you as you hope.
Our society is kind of every fae for themselves. Mostly we don't do confrontation with each other because we have no way of knowing how powerful our fellow fae are. We make trades with each other but we can't really have a designated leader, that's a human thing and other creatures who do the whole pack/herd/society thing. We're kind of too territorial and mistrusting to manage it.
So crime isn't a huge issue, if you can take something without the other guy killing you, it's yours.
We reproduce like animals, but also kind of like plants. It's honestly kind of complicated but if you saw fae having sex you'd probably be able to tell they were doing it.
We're not really social enough to have books and you don't have the required tongue shape to speak our languages, old Gaelic is kind of similar though. As for writing we mostly just use pictographs or symbolism, anything that gets the message across really. But yeah we do live a while so our symbols can take a bit to form.
Not really immortal, but time kind of can't touch us. So you can kill us, but leave us alone long enough and we can outlive your bloodline. So we don't really breed a lot and we're really paranoid and tend not to take risks. We don't really believe in life after death or have an organized religion, we respect certain forces but that's about it.
Faeries don't really fear humans that I know of, some probably hate you guys, I find you fascinating personally. Most fae probably don't want to actively attack or harm a human, too risky, if you piss one off you can probably make a deal with it, I'd rather accept a bribe of a cheap bottle of wine than spend a few months fucking with some guy for killing my favourite rose.

Thanks for answering my questions. You mentioned faerie magick, can you tell us a little about that? How does it work? What can it do?
How do your bodies work? Can you really change your shape as some people think, or do you just manipulate our perception of reality to make it seem like you did?
Is it true that you live in trees and rocks? Is there a way to know if a certain place is inhabited by fairies?
Are you bothered by the fact that most humans no longer believe in you? Are you affected by the pollution of the environment? Is it true that you don't like bells and other loud noises?
No.30381
>>30380
Faerie magick is fun, we can change shape, we can manipulate energy, there are limits though, manipulating perceptions is honestly just hypnotism but we can do that too, making you think we can fly is a lot easier than actually defying gravity.
Magick can kind of do anything given enough time, humans have very finite time so you mostly stick to weapons.
I suppose one thing we can do is fuck with magnetic fields, it doesn't actually do much but humans tend to listen when they can't get a phone signal and there's a sudden pressure in their amygdala.
Our bodies vary because we can shape them, but shaping them properly takes time. So if we wanna show off we mostly just alter your perception since you can be so impatient.
We can live anywhere, spaces between trees and rocks is generally pretty safe, if we get an invitation we'll squat in a house though, those things are convenient.
If you want to know if a place is inhabited by us, you can't really tell if we want to stay hidden.
I'm not bothered by the lack of human belief, I find the Disney thing kind of annoying but little girls thinking we're cute can be useful, and children tend to trust faeries since the Disney version of Peter Pan so I don't complain. We aren't fond of the pollution but it doesn't really hurt us, just really annoying to go on a trip and find humans changed the shape of my forest. Nothing I can do, I wasn't living in it, they are now.
The bells thing is more from a time when you liked iron bells. Loud noises would hurt you too if you had hypersensitive ossicles, I don't make mine that sensitive anymore, I'm missing a lot of sounds but you humans are o loud it's not worth the hassle.

Sorry for the proceeding ramble, but could you elaborate on how the magick itself functions? Is it an innate organic function of your kind (and if so, what of its biological mechanism) or some kind of highly advanced technology? In my headcanon your race attained what we humans would describe as technological singularity one or two hundred years prior to our own industrial revolution, and you've since kept your society hidden primarily in the nanoscale, acting as self assigned auditors of the planet- if so, I am most grateful for your continuing duties.

Innate organic function. The biological mechanism is basically related to our brain, we just have parts you don't have and we haven't really named.
>>30387
A human house is honestly just more convenient. I end up tricking most humans to give me an invitation and move on in. All it takes is a resident, even a child, giving us permission to enter.
The reason differs from fae to fae but mostly it's the same reason some of you go to the zoo, we think it might be entertaining.
There are thousands of non-human species but I assume you mean other sentient life. Dolphins are sentient, so are some apes. Other than that if there is it's better at hiding than we are.

I do find it annoying that humans are obsessed with meaning so much, why do you guys have to make everything about you?
The hidden areas are just hidden beyond your perception, you know a hypercube? Think of space like that that, it's how we move around so fast and hide in the space between space.
We're omnivorous, we can eat people but you guys are so organized it's not worth the effort usually. I don't think I've eaten a human in ages, I prefer chocolate. We like foods you'd call aphrodisiacs and alcohol. Sweet foods are big with us, recently gotten into coffee. Gluten is unironically toxic to us though, lucky for us you humans can be allergic to it too.
I usually spend my time doing whatever catches my interest, young fae tend to open up small animals to learn how they work and figure out the shapes they can take, older fae just tend to drink ethanol and fuck around. I spend a lot of time enjoying human creativity and alcohol. Also sex, you guys will fuck anything, very convenient.

No real way of knowing it's one of us either, and hinting you know might scare us off, we don't tend to stick around humans who know unless we find you amusing.

Not normally, we can put freckles on though, I put some on my shoulders because I heard you guys find it attractive.
If we want to, they're just cosmetic for us.
Iron is painful for some reason, I think it has something to do with ferromagnetism. If it's melted and recast it loses whatever property hurts us. Wood is fine, I mean, if you hit me with a piece of oak it would hurt but if you hit anything with a piece of oak it will hurt.
Where did you get the inside out idea? Just because you're wearing an article of clothing made by your own species in a way not intended, doesn't make you magically invisible.
Bit of both, I know fae have done the changeling thing and some fae probably still do it for whatever reason, food, wanting a pet human, whatever, but the excuse is related to the fact that these people had heard of changelings and attributed the mental and/or physical retardation of their child to us because no one wants to accept blame.

The cross was a pagan symbol in Europe before christians started using it.

You mean that you are a demon/ behave like one? I don't understand your answer.
Second question: What do you know/think about the Black Sun? It seems to pop up into my life sometimes.
As far as my internet searches go, it symbolises change and rebirth?
One example:
One night I pictured it (as a symbol and as an eclipse at the same time) rising in the West, when I woke up it wasn't fully down yet (in the East I presume) and decided to sleep more.
When I woke up after that it was completely down and I felt strange energy surrounding me.
Something very powerful and potentially life-changing happened during that day.

Nobody knows exactly what the black sun symbolises, because it was invented by the nazis and they never explained what it was supposed to mean, so we can only speculate. We don't even know if the nazis themselves called it 'black sun', since there's no evidence that they did, so even that esoteric interpretation is debatable. To me it seems like an evolution of the swastika, possibly inspired by symbols used by ancient germanic tribes, plus the number 12, which could represent the months in a year, and thus completeness, a whole cycle.

> It was invented by the nazi's
They are timetravellers then?
> Nazi bell confirmed working
Or they were indeed inspired by elder artifacts, if they where the ones who first came up with it.
I wonder what inspired them in the latter case.
To unveil its meaning I'd have to find some obscure occult group that continues their tradition somewhere then, that much is clear.
I asked you this question because yo might know more about what humans cannot visually perceive. Last night I tried to call upon the Black Sun again, but it felt more distant as I imagined it (last time it came very smoothly). But this time it was like I felt insect-like wings forming (like a bee) instead of reliving the experience.
I stumbled across this (unrelated in symbol but related in name): "The Aztecs associated the passage of the Black Sun, on its nightly journey through the underworld, with the image of a butterfly.[2][3] The butterfly, in turn, is an archetypical symbol of the transcendent soul, transformation and mystical rebirth […]"

"distant" is the wrong word, it was more like "less present", not as powerful as during that specified night.

The artifacts you posted maybe? Or similar ones.
>To unveil its meaning I'd have to find some obscure occult group that continues their tradition somewhere then, that much is clear.
You mean the nazi tradition, or the ancient germanic one? As far as I know the nazis didn't establish their own esoteric tradition, but simply studied/took inspiration from previous ones (Guido von List, Rudolf Steiner, Karl Maria Wiligut, etc). Ironically Hitler himself became part of someone else's doctrine after the war (Savitri Devi, Miguel Serrano). I don't think anyone today can honestly say that he continues the germanic tradition, simply because that tradition was broken a long time ago, with the christianisation of Europe.
In fact one of the main problems with neopaganism is that it involves a lot of guessing and reconstructing. Some neopagans have turned to Hinduism as a source of information about the religion of their ancestors, because they see it as the only surviving heir to the original aryan religion.

There seems to be a fair amount of overlap between the folklore of fae and the folklore of vampires (an obsession with counting, an aversion to iron, needing permission to enter homes, etc). Is there a connection there, or is it just superstitious spookery causing people to get things all mixed up? I know OP's long gone, but he was probably just a LARPer anyway, so anyone feel free to answer.

Now that you mention it, there are many similarities between fairies and vampires. Besides the ones you listed, there's: long life/immortality, fear of the sun, the ability to shapeshift, the ability to hypnotise people. The same has been said about reptilians/snake people by the way. It seems like these characteristics are shared by all or most citizens of the inner earth.

Im not entirely sure myself, so take what I say with a grain of salt.
I figure that it depends on which court that the fairy is a part of (seelie or unseelie). I can imagine that the fairies with a stronger tie to things like vampires and other evil beings would suffer more from these effects, but all fairies would have a lot of sharing characteristics, being of the same family, you know? Not only that, but it also might have to do with the old saying that no matter how 'good the fairy is, it's best to avoid them. All fairies live in their own way, being far beyond the mortal understandings of morals and goodness. In the song Tam Lin, sung by Alastair McDonald it says that the fairies have ties with hell. Maybe there is truth to that.

I doubt that he would be a full fairy. However, it doesn't seem far fetched for people to have fae in their blood. Perhaps his grandfather had an affair with one, and he recently discovered it? Or he lives near some woodlands and followed the music that only he could hear. OP is fake as far as I'm concerned, but I think this is how anyone with actual fae in them would discover it.

I smoke and drink, more than weed though, I also smoke mugwort and other herbs. Pretty sure they work differently for my kind though, different biology and chemistry you understand, but the same basic concept is there.
Genetic Disorders are rare to impossible since we can change ourselves.
Phobias aren't common, I know of no fae that have one but they might exist.

I don't think they're afraid to die, as much as it is keeping their knowledge a secret. They know beyond our understanding of good and evil, and nearly every interaction with humans ends up lasting between a few months, years, or a lifetime. Probably something that they're not excited to repeat with every lost traveler.

*when they're not dressed in leaves, and are actually wearing clothes.
As far as I know the fae really were noticed getting involved in the affairs of humans. Sure, they did it before hand, and perhaps they still do today. So it would make sense for our knowledge of them to depict them in the clothing that they were seen in the most.

>But the modern accounts still depict them wearing old-fashioned clothes
I think this is because the fair folk stopped (or at least really slowed down on) being involved with the affairs of mortals. Personally, I think it's because that is how we remember them. Maybe they only really grow/evolve with how we perceive them?
