For those who dont know what a skin walkers is a skinwalker is a person with the ability to turn into any animal they desire. The Navajo skinwalker is known as 'yee naaldlooshii' and is a variety of Navajo witch. It is apparently far more common for men to be skinwalkers, though it is possible for women as well.

I'm Navajo and it is very very bad to talk about them, but, I have story. Alright. This takes place in Gallup, New Mexico behind my apartment complex. I normally never go out at night but this particular night I had the urge to look at the moon and that in itself is very bad. I took my dog with me because I was still pretty iffy about being alone outside at night and we just walked around the complex for a bit until I was ready to go back inside and me being the dumbass I was forgot my keys and the front door was locked and I always keep the back door unlocked ((I forget my key a lot)). I went around the whole complex and I froze when I heard my dog whimper and run to the back door, that's when I heard the metal fence rattle. I looked and I saw a man cloaked with fur, he stared at me with his beady black eyes .. I wont be able to forget that face especially the eyes. I told him that I didn't mean to disturb him and apologized for looking at the moon. He simply transformed into a ratty looking brown dog with really intense yellow eyes and left, I went inside and burnt sage and changed for protection ad went to my great grandmother, who was a medicine woman, the next day and had to do some weird ritual and wasn't allowed to shower for about a week.

Also, I will tell you anons the story. Believe it or dont, but a Navajo I spoke to believed it and seemed legitimately concerned.
In Flagstaff, the edges of the city end abruptly and there are woods. I was nearing the edge of the city where there is a large hospital. What I figured was a drunk or junkie was obscured in and crouching in bushes staring at me, but I saw no eyes. Because I was already suspicious I was being watched and was ina shitty mood, I flipped them off and said "Fuck you faggot, suck a dick" or something similar. I immediately felt bad as it was out of my character. Then *zoop* gone in the blink of an eye and yet no footsteps or running.
Later on, I am walking by McPherson park which is embedded in the woods at the extreme edge of town. There is some movement there which I figure is a group of five or so people buying weed or hanging out. I later realized it was two tall and large figures in the dim light. I keep walking, not wanting to bother whoever it is, even though I wanted to explore the park. I a few minutes later look into the sky to see the stars, and there is a moving satellite. Sometimes you can spot some in orbit, but man is it bright. Suddenly, about 4-5 more. They are steering occasionally, and clearly are not airplanes or satellites. "No, no, fuck that. Im not gonna say it. Nope, just gonna keep walking" I thought to myself.
Three minutes later as I walk, there is an indescribable sound coming from the woods and a utility building on the end of the park. I would describe it as a perfect 50/50 mix of a human chant-type hum (like a mantra) and a powerful-assed factory machine. As this occurs, the ground vibrates with un-ignorable strength. As it started, a light activated that did not see as though it were from a bulb. It was a "natural" light, like the kind that would come from a flame, the sun, or lightning and it quickly fades as the noise and vibration stops. It is worth mentioning that I have felt watched and followed for the last several minutes. The figures are out there. I walk up until the road takes a left turn. I walk down the edge of this part of the city, and there is another unknown utility building with an access road by it that leads to other access roads and some hiking trails.
Then I see movement and what I assumed were two cyclists zooming up that access road. However, I realize that it is 10 at night, 40 degrees, and those… are too fast and big to be cyclists. I watch them for the 10-15 seconds that they were visible in the pale light of a sodium bulb from a light on the utility building. I notice the following: There are no handlebars, there is no sound of rocks/pavement sound under bike wheels or feet/shoes, they are zooming ridiculously quickly, the shoulders are bizarrely wide, the forearms are Ronnie Coleman thick, the faces slope inhumanly, dramatic hunches, they are at least 6'6" and would be around 7' if not hunched, and the fingers are long, sharp and fucked up lookin. It looked like there were ears or horns on the big heads.
Like a curious idiot, I went up that road when I got to it. No sounds, the wind had stopped, and the feeling of being watched intensified. I had enough and headed about 3 miles back to town. The feeling of being watched and followed persisted strongly, and my phone kept shutting down at at still 19% battery. I managed to turn it back on and use it a couple times, and it still took pictures and shit. However, It would shut off the moment I looked at certain dark spots among the trees and houses. It still had 13% on it when I charged it when I got home.
I spoke about it to more people than I should have I was in such shock and disbelief. A navajo and apache dude who spoke to me about it believed it, as he had very similar and almost the same experience before, but on the White Mountain Rez. He has had actually very harrowing and close experiences that brought him to what he thinks was near getting killed. They were 7 feet and roided looking, built like NFL offensive tackles, and overpowered, he seems sure they are not skinwalkers, but something more powerful and dangerous. The suspicion is that they are likely thugs who dug up buried ceremonial headdresses and performed some modified ritual. "They probably personally know you bro, even then, killin you probably isnt their interest as long as you dont interfere. Dont sweat it too much, I dont think theyll get pissed if you tell. Just be careful."

On topic, though in all honestly I doubt if it was a skinwalker, the entire situation spooked me. A few days after being fully out of the army and driving back home. I pasted through flagstaff heading south.
At this point I was trying to make a straight drive home, and had been on the road for nearly 23 hours. I ended up getting a flat tire and as I'm fixing it I hear howling coming from the west. Managed to fix it and got back inside when something hit the passenger door. I didn't bother checking, I just drove off. Once a friend of mine got pissed off while we were drinking and walked off into the woods, we let him go because he needed to cool down.

First off i should say that I live on a Reservation, Im an injun, its pretty common to run into family here and around. So, i ran into my uncle, he called me over at the store while i was shopping. Now my uncles a cocky bastard but he does care about his family so i never really had a problem with him. he would always have a smile on his face, so seeing him all wide eyed and talking fast was a little weird. he went on to tell me about how he was driving down the road near my house with his son. as he came around a bend he saw what he thought was some guy standing on the road. However when the headlights hit him he ran quickly across the road where he, according to him, turned into a dog and started running towards the car. he gunned it, meanwhile my cousin was panicking and making the sign of the cross over and over again. I told him about what happened to me and he started talking about all the story's of spirits that his dad and the other elders would tell, a lot of the people around here are pretty superstitious. apparently my cousin will no longer come around near my house.
i don't know what the fuck is going on but i do have three dogs, i doubt anythings going to get near the house without alerting them.

I visit Flagstaff with my friends every two years (altering with Upper Michigan Peninsula) to catch Perseid shower. You hear all kinds of strange noises at night, imagination plays tricks on you no matter how rational you are, and proximity to places like Grand Canyon and Barringer Crater only pours fuel onto flames. Few times we have seen strange shadows, but they always stayed out of the range of our red lights, and they would be gone if we tried to spot-light them or lit up torches or flares. It also happened only if it was just 5 of use, and never during 'Flagstaff Star Party' event.
We are all rationally thinking guys (engineers, lab tech, computer scientist, and statistican), and generally ascribe these happenings to animals and imagination, but not a single one of us will go to take a piss alone. It also only ever happened around Flagstaff and never in Upper Michigan Penninsula, so go figure.

Once I got spooked after hearing some strange noises around my campsite while camping alone deep in the mountains, so I grabbed my shotgun and a flashlight and started wandering around in the darkness firing my shotgun at noises and shouting about skinwalkers. I think I saw some spooky things but nothing for sure, it was very dark and the batteries in my flashlight were low so it was dim and flickered a lot.

I live in Texas but I swear on everything that is holy to me that I saw one of these skinwalker motherfuckers too when I visited my grandmother in Matamoros. I only saw it's face but I was at my aunt's house(they're neighbors) at the time playing n64 with my cousin and I go to one of their back rooms to get some fruit right there in the window I see my uncle's face staring back at me mouth agape moving up and down as if trying to talk to me except I get this insane sense of dread and fear.

Mouth agape flapping looking like an accordion, erratic movements in general.
