The game is free. Get the CODEX release if you have a decent PC. I wouldn't touch this shit for consoles though. Pirate it for PC if you really want to try it. Just be prepared to play on a lower res than usual since the optimization is trash. I have to play on 720p for it to run well, but it runs 8 mans and 6 man elimination chambers at 60fps unlike console versions. Also don't fucking touch MyCareer until there is a patch. Here's a run down of how shit MyCareer is:

The way they're implemented in this game is fucking retarded though. They're absolutely mandatory in this game if you want to customize your character beyond extremely basic shit. This is because over 90% of customization options (attire, moves, etc) in MyCareer are locked behind lootboxes. Not with real money though, with in game currency that takes forever to get. What loot you get is randomized so you have no idea what you're getting either. Even with a trainer for unlimited money and using cheat engine to make the game 5x, I barely got any good items after opening dozens of boxes. Most items were shit like armbar moves and Cena hats. So good luck customizing a character how you want. Also I'm pretty sure regardless of your political beliefs, people can agree that loot boxes are usually a fucking horrible idea since you just have to hope to get what you want, and are 100% kikery when they require real money.

Don't know if it's worth a new thread but some shit from the WWE universe mode. Can barely get a single segment at a time to 16mb. Are there any 8ch-embeddable sites that don't nuke shit for copyright (I've seen tons of WWE 2k games have videos blocked by the WWE for showing something in their game) or erase videos after a while? I was considering doing it on 8ch like this (and did 1 smackdown and 1 main event, didn't get raw because I accidentally simulated instead of setting it to play and you missed some of the big rivalries because of it) but it's so much extra effort with one embed per post.

I understand where you are coming from anon and I do love No Mercy but Revenge was two years prior and really set the bar for what THQ and the industry in general could do with a wrestling game. I was genuinely awed by Revenge. When No Mercy was released I already knew what to expect as its features had been hyped quite a bit prior, so even though it's technically a more complex game with extensive gameplay types and customization etc I really wasn't as wowed by it. I did play the shit out of it with friends but we found ourselves still going back to Revenge often even after No Mercy was out.

It's a company management game. You can either play it straight and have fun that way, especially as an indy guy (try and convince workers to show on verbal agreement and watch as they wander off due to stupid shit occurring, have them bitch about some other guy they hate and don't want to put over despite your company being on the line for a blowoff match). Or, alternatively you can try to exceed the power level of WCW's Black Scorpion and David Arquette eras, especially fun if you take over WWE. For example:

>emulate modern WWE and turn the entire show into random promos with no actual matches booked, bonus points if its a PPV
>force any wrestler without creative control into whatever terrible gimmick you choose
>book a "buck naked" match for the women's title and fire anyone who bitches about it
>demote everyone on the roster to "Jobber" and then set a series of free Japanese-style deathmatches on RAW and Smackdown with the booked winner determined by coinflip until the New Order is achieved
>book one guy noone gives a shit about in every segment for a year
>close and open your development territory several times and then fire all the old personnel who worked there
>book a cage match that's half a day long on RAW

That's one side of it, though. If you want to play the game as intended you can try to build heat, negotiate contracts with talent and so on. If you play indy, build up your workers and then watch WWE poach them since you set up a verbal contract rather than a written one since you are shit poor. When I wasn't trying to ruin Vince's empire I spent a few months trying to build a smaller fed, Race's WLW (again around 2004-06 era) to be specific. You can monitor how over everything is getting and also there's a few external news sources you can use to find good workers who are freed up or could be used for a series. If you want to be all above board, it's extremely functional and addicting.

I booked a great show, a GREAT show, and the AI ends up completely fucking it. Cage matches last 45 seconds, Bo comes out in the wrong uniform and probably doesn't have the stat boost, Kevin Owens and Sami Zayne somehow come out to some generic tag team intro with the wrong music, and the wrong person won the preshow match.
