just played star fox 2. music is great, gameplay is great (rough around the edges though), felt good all around, wish it got a full release and fixed some of its issues

Nintendo fucked over Argonaut Software by trashing this game and internally developing SF64.
This game could have been the one to show the SuperFX could actually pull of competent gameplay.

I know the Yoshi's Island GBA port had issues with the Super FX chip. Was Starfox 2 running on the same chip as that?

Star Fox 2 repros tend to use Stunt Racer FX.
Because it has the SuperFX 2 chip. Yoshi's Island had the same chip, so I think you could use that as a donor cart too.

IIRC Yoshi's Island doesn't have the right amount of SRAM. That's why people use Stunt Race. You can add more RAM to Yoshi's Island but it's probably easier (and cheaper) to just use Stunt Race.
