>Ask yourself the following: Why is solar power so underdeveloped?
Solar is very hightly developed. Its had trillions spent on it since the 70s.
Its just limited by the fact that you need a large surface area to collect enough sun to be useful.
One day you will be able to spray your garden fence with solar paint and the economies of scale could make it cheaper than regular paint. But thats decades in the future.
>Why has no one sent a cheap satellite with a camera into orbit to record the curvature of the earth in real time?
They have.
>Why don't ships on the horizon 'sink' below the horizon, rather than growing infinitesimally smaller?
They do.
>Why are diamonds expensive when they have virtually zero use besides a handful of niche industries (hint: it has nothing to do with their rarity)? And most importantly, who is benefiting from all of this?
All the mines are owned by one company called De Beers.
They can charge whatever they like because they have a global monopoly.
Interestingly, the way you tell a real diamond from a fake is that real diamonds have flaws and discolouration. You pay a lot more for an imperfect product compared to a flawless manufactured diamond.
