I've played their first AoT, very much like Sekiro it's a fun idea but you end up doing virtually the same thing the entire game with very little additions as you play. I don't know if AoT2 is like that or not.

Final Battle is an expansion for A.o.t. 2 but is also sold in a bundle and it changes things up a bit. There is a second, completely new weapon type, firearms, that control very differently from blades and two QoL changes tuned to make high-level gameplay as in the youtube embed simpler; timed blade/gas changes that give you infinite gas/blades for a time if you succeed and a cursor that guides you to the critical(gold) sweet spot. It also makes the beast titan playable and includes the bomb-throwing cart titan as a bizarre titan spawn. With this its pretty much caught up with the A.o.t. story since the next story arc isn't even wrapped up in the manga, which is why the anime is also stalled.

There's 2 new modes as well. The story of the 3rd season of the anime is okay till they get to the basement. After that it's just air dropped titans, Sasha dying and Eren becoming an edgelord.
2nd mode is Territory Exploration and that's basically dream sequence from Warriors 3, random maps, conditions and objectives with a player character across a map. The big plus however is unlocking SP, grinding relationships to get character wide skills and spending Wings to unlock potential in characters. So my Mina for instance has 100 in each stat because she has like 280 potential.

I tried the training grounds where you spend wings of freedom and it just gives you a random chance for a tiny amount of progress in a shitty training bar and maybe a +1 in one or two stats, and that chance of success just keeps decreasing the more you use the training function. Is it supposed to be that shitty? Because that would easily make it gachashit levels of grinding, you'd need hundreds of hours to max out one single character.

Okay, so Story Mode is how you raise your avatar's stats. You build up relationships to unlock skills but also the relationship level corresponds to a % on how effective they are in JOINT training. You can do SOLO training but that requires you to spend more Wings to improve your stats.
This factors because in Territory Recovery mode you get access to another training yard where you can raise the stats of various NPCs. Here you exchange 10 wings for 1 Awakening point and you can freely add that point onto the selected characters stats.
Lastly, you're gonna wanna by the new golden and scarlet drops, these are from a shop in Another Mode. Scarlets are used to get the end game gear and Golden are used to give +1 SP to all characters, SP allows story characters to equip skills they get from forming more relationships with different characters in Territory Recovery.
Needless to say I massively cheated with cheat engine. I'd recommend getting a cheat table. I know that defeats the purpose of grinding for gear but the game is pretty fun without grind and it does sink it down.
Also did a short exploration without pause and holy hell I move like Taz with Katanas. It's awesome.

You earn Fragments in the game and the descriptions on some are vague as fuck. "Recovery Skill Up" being one for example. Does that give me more health, more healed on the character, an auto heal over time or does it boost a healing spell used by the character? There's also a few times where Hinako replies with "Okay" in a scene but she talks for a few seconds longer.
It's generally okay but I wish it got a mod or something.
