Regarding Chaos, the thing about them is that they represented basic emotions of life meaning outright ending them would mean humans would have to radically change. How do you fight a god of war? How do you adapt to a god of change? How do you not feel pain or pleasure? How do you have things in a state of constant change to combat nurgle? You could probably contain them, hypothetically let's assume every CSM is defeated, Chaos loses its most powerful materium army but they're still a threat. I still play it from time to time because it's part of a rotation of games in my group.

There's two core reasons the game is dying:

Competitive mode took over the other game modes. They have an uptick of players every events (people farming cosmetics), that brings back some players but then they quickly drop off because of what happens in competitive.

Look, I'm not a think-skinned faggot, and I can handle banter.

But quite frequently, I'm in a group of 3, the game matches us with another 3, and on average, 2 of them (if not all 3) will get extremely fucking mad if you didn't follow the current week meta, or if you didn't go the right route, or some other stupid shit like that.

And instead of shitposting with a 15$ microphone, they either drop off the match (and they're the kind of dick that waits for the minium match length timer to run out before dropping off, ensure you'll also get a loss on your profile) or they'll do even dumber shit.

Like picking Mei and blocking team non-stop, or picking roadhog and abuse his healing to "feed" ultis to the other team (Blizz nerfed his healing a couple times but this shit never went away).

Why does this happen? Because competitive is packed full of people that think they're the next big e-sports champion. They can't chill and enjoy the game, everything is SUPAH SEWIOUS all the goddamn time.

So I personally gave up on that crap, told the retard that keeps dragging us to play with him, I'm playing that "Quickplay" mode or nothing at all. He gives in, says it's good practice anyway, we fire up a few matches… and the same sort of player is there. But since "waiting for the timer before dropping a match to fuck with your ELO" isn't a thing there, they double down on the Mei or the Roadhog thing, made even more likely because Quickplay lets the same team have multiple of the same hero.

It's been two months since I last played, even the retard I mentioned dropped it after we talk about it.

Overwatch is the extreme oposite: they'll put out an update, test it in the test server, say "alright, looks good", despite knowing not even 10% of the players use the test server (it's all about that Ranked e-penis ranking bro!).

Takes roughly 2-3 days for something new to be discovered as completely OP and abused to hell and back. But unless it's something that killing matches 30 seconds in, they'll only change it… at the end of the season.

Granted, there's been exceptions, but the general rule is that, the further they are in a season, the least likely is it that they'll do any sort of meaningful changes. After a while, they kinda learned that it's only worth releasing updates when the seasons end.

Do you know what this means?

a)You only get new content every 3 months. If it took 4 months to make, too bad, you get new content 6 months later.

b)If something is overpowered and unbalanced, but matches still take 5 minutes to play, it's only getting fixed 3 months from now.

Classic example: Brigite was a "Healer/Tank/Damage Dealer" with a gap closer, 100% damage absortion and speed boosts. You'd think someone at Blizzard and think "Wait, if she can do EVERYTHING, doesn't that make her a bit OP?"

But no, you got stuck with it for 3 months, 3 months of "Pick this or lose".

Both teams pick it? First one to lose their Bridgite loses the fight. That simple.

And all this for… again, the fucking competitive mode.

matchmaking is a godsend since it makes it easy to find and befriend new frens. If you play with the same 5 people you don't have fun you don't improve. However penalties for leaving is stupid since it tries to fix a problem that happens very rarely. Griefing is honestly worse now since people can just be assholes and know that if you leave you get double dabbed on.
