Considering the price of a tablet with comparable specs, would the Switch be a decent tablet?
When they figure out how to install more OS, I mean.
Also, how's the hacking community doing so far?
How likely you think it is to expect a flashcart before the year ends?

For what? Actually working? Tablets are a dead trend now, and you're better off going for some chink phablet.
>When they figure out how to install more OS, I mean.
Already possible, but really what will you do with it, besides emulators, which are already possible on the stock OS
>Also, how's the hacking community doing so far?
The whole of the 3ds and wiiu hacking community is on it, so there's a lot of effort. Right now it's running N64 emulators well, but there's a limited selection of homebrew games, and I dont know how mods are.

You can put an sd card in the system natively and pirate games that way.
I'm not sure if you want games out of it or an actual productive tablet, if its the former, thats up to your tastes, but get something in the DS or PSP family instead. For the latter, dont buy this as a productivity machine, I don't believe it supports external keyboard input yet through ubuntu.

What is the point of buying an expensive device to use it for things any other device could use? It's like buying a Mac and putting Windows on it.

The big convenience it has is that it can run .xci cart images but that's about it. Supposedly emuNAND is coming soon for non-SX OS.
Note that RCM exploits are tethered. If you fully shut down the system (or run out of power) you need to reinject the payload. This requires a PC/tablet/phone. With your android phone and the proper usb cable you can coldboot into CFW directly.

Yes and no. All early production Switches have the same hardware exploit due to the Tegra SoC, however depending on what firmware you're on putting anything on your Switch using the hardware exploit becomes difficult, and the chances of a true, all in one, coldboot cfw solution being available for newer firmwares is nil.

Only issue with laptops is that you're usually buying them from kikes and they break since they're pre-built and you're sol. But so are consoles so hey? I really don't mind limited mobility though since I'm not traveling the world. Laptops work fine in air travel and car rides. The only people who are REALLY concerned with mobility are probably jobs that require a bunch of traveling and moving which is in the minority of consumers lets be honest. And at that point you probably won't have the time to explore a library larger than a hand held.

I pirated some more games for Switch recently, but realized a few of them would play better on PC. My Friend Pedro because I don't like aiming with a joystick and Dark Souls Remastered because it's visually downgraded on Switch + running at 30fps. Switch is better off with mostly first party titles made specifically for the system. For Switch ports they'd best not be very taxing on performance otherwise they'll be better on another system with the only upside on Switch being portability.
Here's some stuff I'll be pirating in the future though:
<Super Mario Maker 2 - June 28th
Didn't play the first one, but after they've expanded on the idea I should really give this a try. Looks much better with slopes which should have been there from the start.
<Dragon Quest Builders 2 - July 12th
Played the first, but didn't play it to the end. I still put a lot of time into it and enjoyed it so again, having the game expanded upon with more shit in it renews my interest.
<The Legend of Zelda: Link's Awakening - September 20th
I played the first remake on Gameboy Color to completion. Initially, I wasn't sure about this one, but I'd play Awakening again so why not play the remake. I never finished Wind Waker until the HD remake on Wii U which, aside from some overdone bloom here and there, was pretty damn nice to play.
<Pokemon Sword/Shield - November 15th
I played Let's Go Pikachu to completion so I'm probably going to play this.
<Luigi’s Mansion 3 - 2019
This is the one I'm looking forward to for real. The rest are like "eh, mite b cool." but this one I definitely want to play. Too bad I didn't see any solid release date for it.
Back on the subject of shit I pirated recently. I thought I would try out Dragonball Fighter Z, but look at all this motherfucking DLC: https://pastebin.com/Z6BqM3qL
I just downloaded the characters and the rest can fuck off. The characters are only like 150kb, but 1fucker will make you hop IP if you download even a single byte from them before you can download anything else. It was super tedious.
I was going to pirate Darksiders Warmastered Edition, but that shit is 13 gigs and I don't want to waste space on my MicroSD card. I saw Dragon's Dogma Dark Arisen is on Switch and as much as I absolutely love that game it's another case of "it's far better on PC". Same with Resident Eviil 4. The HD edition looks practically unchanged. You gotta play it on PC with a texture mod to get a proper visual update to it. Honestly, look up that HD texture mod for the PC version of Resident Evil 4. I have to commend the autism that went into that mod; it's pretty gud. Unrelated to the thread, but here's some shots of it.
