What does everybody think about that Dark Crystal game for the Switch? I'm really surprised they announced it before the new prequel series was even released. I don't have a Switch and I probably won't buy it, but I wonder how much it would contradict what was established in the original movie or all those other comics and books. My concern for the whole new prequel thing is this:
>Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance
>From Kikeflix, publisher of Dear White People
>"The Resistance" is a big twitter fad for punch-a-nazi good goy cretins
>There were gelfling enemies in the trailer so they might be Gelfling supremacists led by Emperor Skekdrumpf to Make Thra Great Again
I wouldn't put it past them to poz the shit out of the Dark Crystal. I remember the sequel getting shitcanned because the director left, saying "Nobody gave a shit about what Jim Henson wanted." (http://archive.fo/33sv8). When Jim Henson set out to make the Dark Crystal, he wanted to make a children's movie that was radically different from other children's media. A marketing push involving a videogame would probably come along with sanitizing some of Henson's more original ideas.
Pic related: the last Dark Crystal game was a text-based adventure released in 1983.
