What full retard thinks this? To triple A kike companies used game sales are as bad as piracy because used game resale doesn't earn them profit. It earns the person who sold the game profit with a higher profit margin due to not sinking in R&D, patent, and printing costs. All the reseller does is buy the game copy. Then they can sell it for however much they want to get back or more depending on speculation. Triple A companies want to go all digital future because of the restrictions to resell game licenses they can impose in ToS. While this won't curb piracy it will kill game resellers instead. Because to triple A companies killing any market that cuts in the sale of your product, whether it be competition or otherwise, guarantees profit.

I already gave up on the retro collection game a long time ago. I really want to rebuild my huge SNES collection that got stolen from me like 15 years ago but the prices are/were completely fucking ridiculous. I'm waiting for a large enough gap in my work schedule to put together a legit workstation and I'm going to make repro carts. Once you've got the tools you'll need (around $100 worth of soldering irons, EEPROM erasers etc) each cart will run you about $10, less if you can print your own labels and cover art.

PS2 has been on the rise but Gamecube shot up pretty quickly after Gamestop stopped stocking for it around 2010. Not a whole lot of tremendously expensive ones other than a handful of games (compared to other systems). But on the other hand you've got the common must play games being at least $35 each if they've got a major Nintendo character on them other than Samus, which is pretty bad compared to common Xbox and PS2 "must plays" still being a good $10 or less each.

I wouldn't say that I buy collections, but still try to pick up shit of interest for the PS2, DS, Gamecube, and occasionally PS1 when feasible. Not to collect either, but because I'd like to play them. Might also mention that I'm not averse to yarrharring, and CFW systems with loaders are welcome utility for what is too rare, expensive, out of region, or requires some sort of unofficial patch to enjoy.

The only time I've personally seen a vidya market die it was Gamestop exploding throughout my town, driving all the other game stores under, and then proceeding to focus solely on seventh gen and on. Unless you mean physical stores and vendors themselves going under, I don't see how that's apt to drive demand for digital rentals up. If anything, I'd think lower demand would just increase aftermarket availability, though that's admittedly dependent on there being places to buy from or sell to. And I highly doubt that buying and selling over the internet is apt to go away either, even if the local pond stops being worth tossing the net into, so to speak.

I think last time I was checking around for a controller at the most reliable store in town (and by that I mean a balance of inventory and price; other places might be cheaper but it's a crapshoot what they have), the employee brought up the issue with Gamecube controllers. They sell third party ones for maybe $15 or so, and tend to care about quality of what the make they sell is instead of just stocking garbage, yet almost nobody wanting a Gamecube controller wants those: They just want the official ones, and when asked why, it's because most of those interested just want them to play Smash of some sort. I think you can at least buy some do-it-yourself rubber parts to try to replace those, though if it's an actual issue with the wear in how readily the controller registers inputs, that may not be as fixable. On my end I've only ever had need for this single controller since no one ever comes over here; friend has three at his house for back when there were enough people around to do multiplayer games with, but it's been over half a decade now since two of them got any use.

So will it still register those as usable for actual PS3 games, or was it more for use with the old backwards compatible fats, like that PS2 memory card adapter to copy save files over was? Granted, you don't need a PS2 controller to play PS2 games on a PS3 with (or PS1 games, for that matter), but with new consoles tending towards a single controller I could see it helping a fair bit when the launch was still recent enough to make trading the console up easier.

Maybe some would, but I'd think more people would still want to take what money they could get once it might start reaching a point where shit is just no longer selling at anywhere near the current averages. And with the repeated forward compatibility, surely there's demand. Might come down to if Nintendo's protective of even the specific pieces that go into their controllers, as opposed to just the entire packaged deal.

Actually, looking around, it seems like you can buy the stick control parts on Amazon, and there's other vendors selling the rubber caps for them, so I'm guessing that they're both allowed to be made and allowed to be sold there.
