I would consider removing them entirely and go with a fully cel shaded anime effect. The falter colors of an anime aesthetic would also help cover up some of the jaggies of the low poly count models.

I commend the effort from Iga to listen to feedback and try and do better
Pragmatically speaking the game would've been better with spritework or just cleaner 3D art with a more minimalistic yet detailed in small additions. It looks very overstuffed with detail and rough due to the cel-shade.
However this update is definitely a huge improvement. Again, the game would be 100% better with spritework or like MM11 did with simple art design to make the 3D clean.
Either way the effort is there with the tools they got so I'll give it a pirate and buy if it's good.

The publisher really worries me on this one as I don’t know how cucked deep silver is and the change in bust size on the boss doesn’t bode super well even if the other characters size wasn't affected.
