Try Sacrifice. Main character is still a bipedal thing but you lead an army of all kinds of weird shit. Gameplays great, writing and music are pretty good, lots of replayability James is best god.

HL2 seems to be "normalized" and everything wierd was thrown out, same thing happened to original Left for Dead, they entirely removed how bleak and dark the game was for no real benefit to the game as whole, now its somekind of generic neutral toned
