Yes, that is the voice of composer Takenobu Mitsuyoshi (Daytona USA) in the Japanese Burning Rangers theme. Try to avoid obvious ones like god hand, post your favorites otherwise.
05ee0b No.16412963
Okay, obvious ones to get out of the way are Persona, Devil May Cry, Sonic the Hedgehog, and technically Jet Set Radio. Also there's the DK Rap in DK64, I guess that counts.
In terms of the most obscure vocal track in a game I can think of, probably the ending theme of To The Moon. I mean, if To The Moon even counts as a game.

Other examples include pretty much every single "stylish action" game ever made, including DMC as mentioned before, God Hand as OP said, Bayonetta, Wonderful 101, and Metal Gear Rising.
WarioWare has shittons of vocal tracks. I think my favorite of them is probably Body Rock. I dunno why it isn't in Smash yet.
Probably the absolute most famous examples of vocal tracks in video games are the ending themes to Portal 1 and 2.

I just finished playing the first BS Zelda game. Wasn't expecting it to have such good music. There's this one track that plays during the end of chapters that's like some weird '80s thing. It's pretty cool. Very surprised I don't hear more people talking about this game since it's Zelda, and it is actually good. I still have to play Ancient Stone Tablets, which seems like an overall more interesting game. I hope the music is as good on that.

Ancient Stone Tablets isn't nearly as interesting as BS Zelda is. The developers apparently didn't want to bother rerouting the overworld so they just block off areas they don't want you to go to yet. Also I don't know how the original version of BS Zelda did it because I played the version where content was locked behind obtaining Triforce pieces but in Ancient Stone Tablets you can immediately skip to Week 4 and complete the game just fine.

Swing Time from Spiderman Vs. Kingpin (Sega CD)
Real Life from Drawn to Life: The Next Chapter
Vultures from Trials Evolution
Break Free (Lead the Way) from Super Mario Odyssey
Right There Ride On from Sonic Rush
Into Free from Dragons Dogma
Sea of Love from Techno Kitten Adventure

The version I played of BS Zelda Map 1 has all four weeks in a single rom, so you can't skip. I know the way they distribute Ancient Stone Tablets is in four roms, which is more accurate to the original. Sure, maybe you can skip, but you're not only cheating the game, but yourself. It's just cool to have a few new dungeons to go through. The overworld map didn't feel that different anyway, even though I know it was. I was impressed how they managed to compress it without making me feel like I was playing a different map.

Akira Yamaoka does a lot of good shit, it's just that a lot of the western games suffer in everything else and only have Yamaoka's soundtrack to back them up. Then Downpour went full retard and used Daniel Licht, who can't do the soundtrack and was probably hired because he did Dexter. Oh, and Korn did the fucking theme song and even for Korn it's their worst song, void of any of the aggresiveness or dumb nu-metal. It's just a limp heavy metal song.
c4f75d No.16417750
There's /ourgame/ Let it Die with a thousand goddamn songs from small artists curated by Akira Yamaoka (who plays guitar in a couple original songs in the game.)
It's not a 10/10 OST but all the tracks are gym, pump-you-up tier which goes great with the raiding mechanic. I like how they cut costs by just putting out a call for local bands to submit songs with "Let it Die" as the theme to fill the OST.
Then I also like Armored Core's vocal tracks. They're more experimental because Kota Hoshino (guy behind the pleb filter Evergrace OST) is a crazy motherfucker who doesn't know how to actually compose music traditionally. A cool thing FromSoft has is their in-house band "FreQuency" that composes music for the Armored Core games and releases standalone albums that include both remixes of Armored Core tracks and original songs. All fronted by Hoshino himself. He's my favorite video game composer.>>16417636

How rare is it for throat singing to appear in video games? Muramasa has it, but only prominent in the begining until it gets moved to the background for the rest of the track, and recently sekiro uses it for the Senpou Temple battle theme the same way, but in a more throwaway manner. Ancient Stone Tablets plays closer to a single player Four Swords campaign with timed bonuses and hazards, not to mention mini challenges. It's more meant as a high score game.
Meanwhile the earlier BS Zelda was meant more as a pseudo-remake trimmed down to be able to be completed by mostly everyone in the short allotted broadcast hours. It also had new music made for it since they didn't originally plan to just play a synced track over the feed. AST was built with the sync feed in mind, so they just ditched the soundtrack altogether. Any BS ROMhack adds back in the LttP OST.

No, it doesn't. Hymmnos can't modify the world, and using something like Metafalica as the baseline is wrong due to how many requirements that song needs to meet to be properly executed.
Besides, Hymmnos is so far removed from the languages that actually have an impact in that universe, like the planet's Ar Ciela, that calling it the programming language of reality is false and misleading.

This was something that I decided on based on how every name and every word in our world tells a story - except for the names and words in fiction that are just made up out of nowhere.

The game which was so bad, they had to create Mask of Eternity just so that people would forget that KQ7 even happened. Holds up? Ok, gameplay wise - it's alright, but the art style is complete dogshit. All of those "Interactive Cartoons" late Sierra did were terrible to look at, especially coming off of some of the best pixel work the company ever produced with KQVI, QFGIV, LSL6, etc. The voice acting took a hell of a nosedive as well, which was astounding because it was already generally kind of bad, but now they were trying to make every line super exaggerated to match the new cartoony style.

I always think of Shining Blade when I think of games with vocal tracks because the songs were an actual gameplay mechanic. Enemy bosses had force fields that made them nigh invincible, but certain female characters had the power to sing songs that would neutralize this field and give bonuses to your units like HP regen or damage bonuses. The interesting thing is that the songs weren't just an effect or a short 5ish second track like in Ar Tonelico. The song you activate would actually become the BGM until you switched to a new song or stop singing.

Speaking of Takenobu Mitsuyoshi, this was so refreshing to hear after not getting KO'ed a single time once in Virtua Fighter 5: Final Showdown. Thank you, El Blaze.

Your autism is genuinely interesting to me. Please continue in greater depth.
I really liked Ar noSurge from top to bottom (aside from the best ending being trapped in item-construction hell which, despite the funny skits, makes it nearly impossible to replay for me due to item collection and generally wasting my time).
I also remember the Ciel no surge youtube channel that translated every single episode of the couple year-long original episodic game leading up to Ar nosurge.
Artonelico 3 sucked ass and I wish I could play the unadulterated fan patched edition of 2 on my PS2. 3's story was weak but maybe it's a big issue due to NISA ruining everything (KoeiTecmo rescued Ar noSurge). I know the game gave me terrible carpal tunnel from it's stupid combat system, though, and the protag looked like a faggot.

I still can't believe they got Rob Zombie's brother Powerman 5000 to make a track for that game.

With the Japanese audio option, the main theme in Asura's Wrath gets vocals. It sort of sucks because the vocals help in a lot scenes, but the english cast is way, way better then the japanese cast.
In general I think Asura's Wrath is pretty much the only game to do the whole interactive story/cinematic/QTE based format right. It's arguably barely even a videogame, but as a piece of media/an expierence/whatever, it's fucking incredible. I can't reccomend it enough even if it's just watching the game and DLC on youtube.
Especially if you are into stupid, crazy over the top shit a la G Gundam, Gurren Lagann, Bayonnetta, etc. Mechanically the game's shit but the sheer fucking audacity and spectacle of the cutscenes is mind blowing and the aeshetics, art design, music, and story is really well done.
Unironically cried a bit at the ending of the main DLC.

Yes. It is very comfy and beautiful.
The theme is not a coincidence. The game's plot deal with good religious beliefs from rural people vs corrupted church/institution imposing subversion of the beliefs on those people while hiding truths from them.

While people are quick to point out "Into Free", Dark Arisen's "Coils of Light" is pretty underrated. Though Dark Arisen fucked with the music of the original and replaced the stellar title theme, the new music is still pretty good. Posting Japanese version because instrumental arrangement and composition is superior.
