It came out recently. I've gotten around an hour or two in.
It's pretty fun, basically you've got a pretty cool directional(cardinal directions+ diagonals) dash slash that can reflect bullets and go through multiple enemies and you can pick up beer bottles, potted plants, busts, molotovs, a makeshift flamethrower or smoke grenades and chuck them at people for a ranged attack, a dodge roll for dodging a single bullet/attack/getting behind enemies and slow motion. So far it's pretty fun, but I have three major complaints
>It's too easy, especially when using the slow motion. I rarely use it but it's still fairly easy
>So far too much story faggotry. You start off the first three missions pure gameplay, then it pulls the hotline miami "you're an ex soldier who's losing his mind" shitck and you keep getting interrupted mid missions for plot reasons or so you can black out with le cool retro VHS effects and start elsewhere. I haven't finished it yet, but I hope it gives me more gameplay rather than constantly interrupting me. Considering the stuff in the trailer that I haven't even reached, I have hopes.
>Levels are fairly short.
All in all I like it, but not as much as I had hoped I would. Try it if you wish, talk about it, whatever. #!vwUSBILR!wcMF7_GNCncTG9TOx_eE_XVyKfly6lBwnchQYF95_wQ
Also you can't replay levels and I have no intention of going through all that storyfaggotry again just to record some stuff, sorry. I'd post the music, but so far it didn't really stand out from generic moody synthwave beats.
Have fun.

Oh yeah, something I forgot to mention is that there's some degree of randomization with the enemy placements, so that when you replay a level often you can find their positions have changed slightly and it makes a fair difference. Studio 2 for example has the gun user has his back directly in front of the door so you'd take him out when you tear it down, making it so you can use the throwable on the pompadour guy.

I've finished it. Basically all you have for replayability are finding secret keys that unlock alternate swords. The swords are basically(left to right)
>Cosmetic(randomly colored blood whenever you kill someone with the sword)
>Sword charges whenever you're not using it, charged attack emits a projectile
>Knife, virtually no cooldown period between attacks, nearly 1/4th of range, I hated it.
>Broadsword, Pompadour guys and Shieldmen die in one hit instead of deflecting you, but bullets are destroyed instead of reflected
>Flames, larger range
I'm very disappointed in the game. From what I've read there's supposed to be DLC that ties up some story beats and a sequel, which leads me to conclude the game is incomplete and that you should pirate it.

Not only did you not get to fight Snow, or the Dragon, but you didn't even get to play The Dragon in other levels besides the prison. I thought it would be pretty cool to give him a go as an unlockable, but nope. There's barely any replayability in the game and no amount of shit alternate swords to the already really well balanced sword that will make me want to play this game again considering there just isn't much to see.

Definitely way too much story faggotry. Offenders are:
>No cutscene skip
>"Fake" encounters that just require you to fail repeatedly until the story feels like progressing
>Dialog options that are completely meaningless, after saying "no" to the girl repeatedly the dialog started looping; why give me the god damn option
>Ends on a cliffhanger iwth way too many unresolved plot threads
My enjoyment of the story ended pretty fast. I'll give it some points for integrating some story telling into gameplay (e.g. during post-mission rewind, things change as other NULL's ruin your day), but it's not really offset well against the fake encounters where you're forced to fail. The initial fight with V where he's immortal really is not fun.
On top of that, putting heavy focus on the story and then just ending it on a cliff-hanger is fucking disgusting. Why are you forcing through shit story if you're not even going to god damn deliver? Are you that desperate to sell DLC?
Gameplay is "alright". It's got that Hotline Miami moving fast feel, but it definitely has problems.
>Level does not start the same consistently, same (starting) strategy sometimes works, sometimes doesn't
>Slow guard patrols mean that door kills will involve a lot of patience
>Dragon's Dashslash simply refuses to trigger if you aim it incorrectly, rather than aiming at the nearest-allowed location (possibly just KB&M control issue)
>Slowmo mechanic for reflecting bullets is fun, but the slowmo is way too strong, making you wait quite a few seconds for bulets
>iframes promotes roll spam, which is in many situations way better than coming up with an actual plan
>minimal movement is clunky, tapping a direction makes you immediately dash in that direction, covering quite some distance. Fine-grain control can only be maintained if you keep moving constantly.
>game kinda drags on, a lot of situations just seem to be more of the same shit
>music completely unmemorable, after playing through it I literally cannot recall any
There's also some encounters that I found too difficult compared to the rest of the game, but maybe I'm just retarded. Who knows.
Game should've been polished a bit more.

I'm more ticked off about the patrolling cycles not being set in stone, it actually changes everytime you rewind, even in hotline miami outside of random enemies aren't that chaotic.
if you tap the stick you move a pixel and that threw me off for a fast game, as for the dash slash does not go through walls and should stop as soon as possible but could be a keyboard and mouse thing. I only remember the trailer music as you're fighting the sniper faggot, that was pretty good.

It's so clunky I bet they based the whole "stealth" system(the triangle/Y button map) just for minimal movements, and even that is way too slow.

you can reflect bullets without slow mo. About half a second after they see you(red exclamation marks) they shoot, you slash. That half a second pause got me many times.

I think you're supposed to be rude to the therapist as much as possible, exhaust dialogue options with Electrohead, then refuse chronos before the prison mission to unlock the alternate version where Tragedy orders you to slaughter everyone. Make sure to hang up on him a bunch. My friend said I would know if I was doing it right if before the bunker mission the therapist says something along the lines of "I'm disappointed you aren't dead" before you go to the Bunker.

During that conversation you need to talk to him about your conversation with Electrohead, and then refuse your shot. Every other dialogue piece should be you selecting red dialogue options and interrupting him.

What disappoints me the most is that you find all these keys for extra swords but you are not allowed to use them until AFTER you beat the game and get the ending. When they are no longer useful because you already beat the game and there is no reason to replay them with better weapons since there is no scoring system, nor timer or anything to compare.
If there was some sort of endless challenge mode were you can kill waves on enemies on different maps, without story cutscenes to interrupt you at least there would be something. Other than seeing different dialogue options there is no replay value.
I enjoyed the gameplay but its no fun to replay old stages with the same enemies if you can even skip cutscenes.
It also really bothers me how the story just ends when its getting good. It felt like it was reaching the climax of the story, something big was gonna happen and then the credits appear. Also that you only get to play as that other character for 1 stage. Feels like a waste.

Yes, you get a couple alternate endings as well as a hidden boss if you piss off the psychiatrist on every mission.

Fifteen seems to be alot. . .stronger than Zero.

Zero’s a samurai. Fifteen is anime. It makes sense.

Just finished the story, the game was pretty fun even tho theres some awkward enemy placement here and there and the minecart section really outstayed its welcome.
I was expecting the story to pull a Second Sight since Zero appears to experience time non-linearly but alas that didnt happen. It was also never explained where he got his brain trauma which is retarded.

I like that he wears a suit and tie. He went a completely diffferent direction after the war.

The ending seems to change depending on what you tell the therapist. In my ending Zero didnt kill the kid, he just murdered the scientist and busted the machine.

Leon is the fag you slash in the freezer. He immideately fucking decomposes so I assume Chronos fuckery.

The guy on the monitor and freezerbro are the same guy. It's pretty weird how he just falls apart and crumbles to dust. I assume there's a process to getting him thawed that isn't simply "open cryo pod"

Ye I get that but you get a dialogue option where you call him by his name in the beginning of the level. The dialogue system is wierd in that every fucking dialogue choice changes SOMETHING SOMEWHERE but its never anything core gameplay related, like a different route die/dont die doesnt really count tbh famalam or a different level unlocking super sikrit boss doesnt count, its a super sikrit, but its always some detail or cutscene related subtle change. Dare I say I rrike that actually, but it could definitely be better, also only one level as Fifteen sucks fat donkey dick.
Also whoever said the girl propably wasnt real, she is real, you can see a small cutscene in the end where they are shown having abducted her. Time fuckery of sorts I bet, since again, Zero experiences time out of order.

Wish there was a way to fight the therapist without being a consummate asshole. Digging too far from your programming could’ve been enough, with being an asshole changing the flavor just like the dialogue works for the rest of the game.

You only have to be an asshole to the therapist from what I understand. Cause otherwise fuck that, being an asshole to the receptionist is a crime against humanity.

There goes the qualms I had.

This game was nice and fun, story had me really invested surprisingly. However it's really short, like 1-2 hours unless you really wanna replay and unlock a bunch of stuff. Kinda feels unfinished. No qualms in pirating it at all.

Holy shit, how many different routes can you get in this game?
adebfc No.16437938

Basically it's mostly flavor text with some super minor gameplay tweaks like an extra screen or a different NPC later in the levels. The only really big difference so far is the super sekrit fight which is more or less similar in requirement to a Hotline Miami 2 secret level.
I honestly wish you could go and watch some anime with the receptionist, or go up to the locked off floor in the studio.

Honestly it's a pretty easy boss for all the hype. Even more so if you cheat and use the projectile sword

Man, people were hyping up this game, and I got MGSV'd
At least they're actually gonna release the ending, I hope
Anyway, the game peaked at the interrogation scene and subsequent boss fight, it 100% capitalized on every major story and gameplay concept, and the game never really did anything like that again

My biggest disappointment is that they never used Chronos in a creative way in-game, when it came to bossfights.

I mean, giving you multiple tries is basically the maximum possible use in a fight
The only other thing I can think of is a scenario where a shortcut to an instant kill is discovered later in the fight, that you can use earlier once you find out about it
A fight between two people using it to it's fullest potential would be effectively impossible without breaking the rules, because it'd just be a standoff with them staring at each other until one of them gives up, because neither can make a single move without the other anticipating it
