Format 43 is what I grabbed. It works for most shorter videos without issue.
Wanting to share the channels is understandable, though.
It's sad that HTML5 video came as late as it did. YouTube came about because video streaming on the web was complete fucking shit. Now HTML5 video makes embedding and sharing videos easy and convenient (I still haven't figured out why 8ch does its weird player.php nonsense instead of just expanding directly into a video element and including the controls as hidden elements that display when the video swaps out for the thumbnail). If HTML5 video came earlier, we probably wouldn't have this horrible video monoculture that we have, as everybody would be more able to just host their own video files in a functional way. The only delimiter there is bandwidth.
Anyway, I should probably continue with some thread-appropriate content.
