This may be semi against board rules but I hope mods will be okay because it's related to video-games, I need help and I have to bitch about "muh state of affairs these days"..
Having spent the last 3 hours of my life trying to find out what's wrong with this game, and using every possible fix I could find on the net. I'm practically ready to give up.
Pic 2 is a screen of the event viewer report on the crash, maybe someone who knows what they're doing can help me.
To get the usual shit out of the way, all of my everything is up to date, I meet the requirements(hell I've played this PoS before DefEd came out), all of my shit's comatose roses, spic and span and ready to go.
So the only answer is that it's game-side(it's a torrent but legitters have the same problem with this absolute shitter of an update). I have no idea what the devs would've had to have fucked up to cause this kind of shit but I've read everything from the game crashing due to conflicts with it trying to access Skype temp files to it shitting itself as a result of the existence of the common, household USB device, to it refusing to start on overclocked cards(mine isn't because I'm not a spaz-muffin).
My desperate plea for help out of the way…
Can anyone tell me why no games come out that aren't fundamentally flawed in some way? I mean how fucking hard can it be for people that have been making games their entire fucking life to basically mod their previous title(see: all Dice has done since BF3) without colossally fucking it up?!
What degree of incompetence have we gotten to where console releases need niggers to fuck around with the game's scripts to make them not be buggy messes? PC releases are like 3 times worse, I don't think I've played a game on any machine that hasn't had some kind of serious fuck-up. Doesn't matter if it's a legit copy via steam or gog, a physical copy, a pirated copy whatever it's all fucked all the time for everyone everywhere!
I really don't get it, how did we get to games being released despite being literally unplayable(*cough* Vampyr and it's 8 Gig day 1 patch *cough*)? This shit's on AAA releases, it's on middle market releases, it's allover the indie sphere, it feels like most of the games made these days are made by people who've suddenly up and forgotten how to make games.
This kind of shit is coming out of companies who used to be good at making games too!
I don't know, man, what do you guys think? Should there be some sort of minimum competency test to allow people to demand money for their work? Because I'm getting sick and tired of either fixing or waiting on other people to fix my games so they can be playable and not run like they're fucking retarded.
On that subject, what happened to games not running like the chunky shits? It feels like every game coming out these days looks half as good as it should, runs twice as bad as it aught to and demands three times what's reasonable from your hardware. And don't even get me started on the actual substance of the games, which keep swelling to more and more ridiculous proportions(has anyone even seen a major release sub 10 Gigs in the last couple of years?) for games of similar or smaller size, less depth and, frankly, less interesting gameplay.
Sigh…well I wouldn't be surprised if mods out-and-out nuked this thread from the get go, I'd kindly ask them not for reasons of anger and desperation but I'd understand if they did.
Why the fuck would a game feel the need to interface with PCA2?
