I hope so. Monster Rancher has always been a favorite. The lack of CD reading will be missed though, another mechanic that new tech has left behind. Other than pokemon, they all have chance of being phone games. But if the switch is taking the place of the 3ds/vita it's a good home for these types of games.

The private server is based on the Japanese server's final build, so you can bypass some of the grind for sure.
As for dungeons, February's update implemented Shinagawa Ice Caves and Shibuya Quartz Gold. There are also Diaspora runs, if you're into that.

Indie games based on having a player base is fucking stupid. People went nuts over cubeworld and no one ever followed up on it. Pokemon cube world would be a god tier game and yet no indie devs tackling anything of the sort. I'd do it myself but I lack the autism to enjoy making games.

If you mean online-only types, sure. To clarify, our intent is a PvP only demo so people can play it with friends (saves AI and field programming for later, while we can use it to shill). Stuff like self-hosting or direct connecting to clients would be supported, because I don't want people to rely on dedicated servers that could go down. It's just a step in the full development which would be single player for the most part.

The clan system and friend system work the same as they did on the official servers. A lot of the players are similarly friendly as well, so you can ask around and someone will probably join you in no time.

You're going to seriously struggle to find people willing to do that. A single player option would be much better. Like if Pokemon did a demo it would start with picking your pokemon and go to the first gym.

They got told to down Pokemon, but being aware of how much weight that single series has for their site/traffic, they just made a new folder named "Porkyman" and have any searches/uploads for Pokemon redirect to it.
