Shit, I'm about to tell you about one of the strangest rabbitholes I have ever fallen down. A couple of years ago I got to feeling nostalgic for Hatena and went looking for some of the old flipnotes online - only to discover that someone had found a way of making their own dsi - accessible server called "Sudomemo". The guy who made it was named "Austin Burke" - and he was an autistic brony - but he was also a good christian boy according to his youtube uploads. I donated like five dollars to the server upkeep before I started looking through his social media - the first thing I was greeted with was a picture of him in a fox costume in front of the white house. I regretted donating after that - as I realized his replica of Hatena had become filled to the brim with furfags - as birds of a feather flock together.

Fast forward to last year and pedophile allegations come out. I shouldn't be surprised.

I used to spend so much time browsing the Flipnotes, giving stars here and there. The japanese really had talent for drawing while the western community was better if you wanted to find funny things. I'm obiviously not downplaying the talented ones who happened to be from the west, of course.

Anyways here are the ones I saved back then. Do you know if Flipnote caught up on 3DS?

Leaked chat logs from Discord and some other messaging app. A total of three or four people cared and made videos about it on JewTube. I spent a good fifteen minutes trying to find the white house picture, I saw it a couple of years ago and I don't know if it's been deleted or not.

You used to be able to redownload old flipnotes because Hatena still had the raw files archived until 2016

Flipnote 3D is only on myNintendo everywhere but japan and it had it's online sharing gutted, you can still export notes from it to AVI and Gif I think but as far as things go I'm pretty sure it's totally dead. Possibly because people finally figured out how the animator shit in Krita works.

What I don't get even, with being somewhat active in the flipnote community is how, ALMOST UNANIMOUSLY, everyone used the same oETo face which is fucking weird because I don't even remember it being a really popular emoticon back then

Anyone remember that guy who made those "Mario vs the World" flipnotes? There were a couple of people out there who made really good sprite fight flipnotes, and I wasn't one of them, but I was intruiged. My flipnotes were 10fps dumpster fires
