All I wanted was for the game to have a better framerate. That's it. Just make it so the game doesn't chug to near-death at more than one enemy/special attack. Instead I got one of my favorite niche JRPGs of the last ten years thoroughly ruined in every hole. This is a travesty. This is worse than censored Hitler in P2–at least he retained his identity and looked cool. This is unbelievable.
This game was so good, too. You don't even know. Every character had a severe trauma which the main "villain" wanted to heal by suppression. One was a single mother at 18, another was a 13yr old boy who was ritually abused and starved by family who took him in after his parents died.
Another was a fat-hating anorexic whose phobia drove them to be literally bedridden and near-dead.
Another was literally autistic or clinically psychotic and scarred his face in an attempt to gain control of his life from a single mother who ruled everything about his days to train him in her profession.
The last was a man who was a useless NEET who lived in shame for following a charismatic bitch who wanted to suicide-pact with him but he chickened out the last second and fled as she jumped. He's the coolest character because despite seeming like he has it together he's such a shmuck and hates himself. His story is directly tied to the main villain's and is the crux of the whole game.
The main villain is a woman named Thorn who is the girl who killed herself except not really, it's actually their friend, a guy who was so obsessed with the real girl that he loathed NEET guy for being chosen by her. He finds Mobius, chooses to take on his beloved's appearance and haunts NEET guy in unending torment while manipulating all the other "villains" who are just as truamatized or broken kids as the main cast–but he wants to destroy the real world by tricking the naive idol goddess into absorbing ALL of the inhabitants' mental traumas and driving her tainted crazy, and thereby for a brief moment before Mobius vanishes (since the real world would be gone) his mental image as the suicide girl would persist, technically making her "alive" again in his mind

One of my favorite parts is when a certain character goes missing and the gang is in the club room but someone's messed with the coding by locking the door and making it unbreakable. So they're all stuck inside as Musician music plays–which is music made by the villains to literally brainwash any who are exposed to it overlong into being willing drones. And they go being stuck in here, bickering between each other as they slowly starve.
Then the girl you met earlier, the best friend of the missing girl you think betrayed you, finally finds the key and helps you out to bring you snacks.
…Everyone begins eating but the protag, and you notice that the girl calls you "president", a title only the club members know you to be. You call her out and just then your friends start getting drowsy. You are left fighting alone against a boss who is very clearly either a crazy soldier in disguise or a POW who got caught up in the mystical song of the idol goddess who can bring your consciousness into Mobius, the world she created.
It was sick.

From what I understand Furyu didn't really have a great relationship with Tadashi to begin with since they had supposedly asked him to tone down the cultural taboos inherent in the character traumas and instead he just went harder with it. Mind you, my source for that is a Brazilian game reviewer who kept unfavorably comparing the game to Angel Beats and Net High, as if the concept of "trapped in a virtual world, seeking a way out of the fake world" was something those titles came up with.
As for the rewrites, I don't know but I'm positive it would be the latter since Tadashi made it a point to go all-out and put in every severe subject he could get. I say this because the new characters involve idol stalking/near rape/skull beatings, trauma involving almost dying in a fire and a voyeuristic pervert who stalks girls while they're naked.

There are only three games the Vita exists to serve: P4G, Ar Nosurge and Caligula Effect. If you can set sail or even better find an emulator then even better, but do note that the worst thing about the game is its terrible in-combat framerate. It's fine for the most part but trudges to a crawl at intense conflict, especially with every character attacking at once. Other than frames the combat has fun timing mechanic and its overall a game you definitely will never see again, especially with NuAtlus cucking to SJWs and Furyu clearly not caring enough for quality control. It's better to leave it ambiguous and let players infer what really went down. Her tactic to break the gang in the club room is a classic torture technique for POWs, her attire is a semi-military get-up, she thrills in cruelty and she's desperate to not go back to reality.
From this we can discern she has some tie to military or war zones, and if her character model is true to who she is in real life then she's likely not a soldier, which makes her a POW or some other victim in a similar vein. If her character model is not her in real life (which, considering her cartoony heart-eyes, is also plausible) then she could be a soldier herself, though why she would not want to return to reality is up to the player.
I prefer to think she is some abducted casualty of war being held in some rape camp somewhere who hates life and wants to inflict the cruelty inflicted upon her. We see similar scenarios in Sweet-P (who, although not malicious about it, enjoys watching her female friends pig out as fatties), in Shounen Doll (who turns people into dolls to shove needles in their eyes, ears and mouths), and in Shadow Knife. The villains most all have a common thread of psychological projection and deflection which keeps them from turning good like the main cast and makes them all easily susceptible to Thorn's manipulation.
