I lost 45 pounds in 3 months by changing my diet and using an elliptical whenever I played video games. I used a wireless controller and I'd usually (without consciously meaning to) move at a speed appropriate for whatever was happening in game. I played a wide variety of things, from shooters to walking sims. It's best if you pick something light on text.
This evolved into 3 hour cardio sessions when I'd get into a game and push myself to continue. I would end the evening drenched in sweat and exhausted. This was extremely satisfying.
The only reason I no longer do this is that the elliptical wasn't mine. When I moved I had to leave it behind. RIP fitness routine.
