Console pros:
No requirement to install Windows 10 and a bunch of other horseshit on your computer.
No worries about having your game soundtracks gutted due to future jewery.
Games are still physical, and can be re-sold for a decent amount, so long as they're not Cowadoody or some other yearly-refresh pile of disposabullshit.
Consoles can normally be cracked to allow you to play games for free, but it's best if you get a system and keep it offline and do NOT install any updates that are on game discs, to make hacking easier when a method is released for a particular hardware or firmware revision.
Typically excellent gamepads
Console cons:
Completely under the thumb of MS, Sony, and Nintendo until the system is cracked open.
Low quality textures, low resolution, low framerate, and no way to upgrade the hardware or change the settings to improve the performance.
Still no mouse & keyboard support for most games, or even the goddamn web browsers in most cases.
Limited to mainly AAA bullshit.
Censorship is increasing with almost no way to circumvent it until this fucking war goes hot.
PC pros:
You're as free as you want to be, and not limited to video games and media player functions.
Modify damn near everything, not limited to the games you will play.
Source ports for the lucky few older games that autists loved so much that they either reverse engineered the source, or knew what to do with it when it was publicly released.
Absolutely any input device made in the past 30 years can be used, with a little effort.
Modular upgrade options, with secondhand parts available for those on a tight budget.
For the time being, cracking groups still exist to remove the intrusive DRM malware from popular (?) titles, so even if you prefer to pay for games, you can buy the game and install the cracked version for the best of both worlds.
PC cons:
Pretty much every processor and motherboard made since 2010 has MASSIVE hardware backdoors in them, and slightly older hardware only marginally less so.
Arbitrary OS restrictions on many games prevent you from running them without source ports, if you choose not to use Windows 10 (Linux is improving in game compatibility rapidly)
Significant learning curve for neophytes seeking to become proficient.
Constant revelations about some ideologue group putting malware in software, even if it's open source, requiring knowledge and time to scan the code of everything you're compiling from even trusted sources.
Almost no reason to build a beastly computer unless you like playing poorly-optimized AAA trash, not that this isn't the case on consoles.
