NISA has the rights to Trails now. At this point asking for people to support the older releases seems somewhat futile but it's your money so if you want to support XSeed's old work then go ahead.

>Latest News

-On January 17th, 2019 NISA formally announced they had acquired the rights to the Trails series (and likely has had them for some time) and would be releasing Cold Steel 3 in fall of 2019 for the PS4 (no other platforms have been announced so far). In an attempt of damage control it was announced Brittany "Hatsuu" Avery, Ryan Thompson and Kris Kniggev (all veterans of XSeed's work on the CS series) had been contracted to work on the game to ensure script accuracy, do translation work and, in Hatsuu's case, manage the VAs and dub (Sean Chiplock has already been confirmed as returning as Rean). This is probably been the biggest fear of the Falcom General for a while and it's here now. NISA's play here is pretty smart and a good portion of the initial outrage was quelled by these staff announcements. For now the best course of action will be to gather information and watch NISA very closely for when they release content from the translation (like screenshots or trailers). Collecting info from NISA's past deeds is also a good plan, but keep in mind it will be difficult to make much headway with that alone until we can show they're fucking up this translation too thanks to their insulation via the stunt hires. Being attentive and vigilant is your best course of action here.

-Ys IX: Monstrum Nox was revealed. It is the furthest game in the Ys timeline and will release in fall of 2019.

-Trails of Cold Steel 1 and 2 will release on PS4 in February and March of 2019. For the first time the games will have dual audio, though the dub will feature the extra lines recorded for the PC versions. It will also feature the "turbo mode" feature added to the PC versions.

-The PC versions of Cold Steel 1 and 2 had dual audio patched in, so as long as you are able to update your game an undub is no longer necessary if you want to play it with Japanese audio. Also some new English lines were added to CS1 with the patch.

-On the same day, October 26th, both Tom Lipschultz and Brittany "Hatsuu" Avery left XSeed. Hatsuu has since gone freelance and was hired by NISA to work on Cold Steel 3.

- As of this posting Trails of Cold Steel 4 has been out for nearly four months in Japan, so obviously the whole game is spoiled. Try to keep things behind spoilertext here.

- The PC port of Ys: Memories of Celceta released on July 25th, 2018.

- The Switch port of Ys VIII released with a litany of bugs, including not even having dual audio (NISA's sole claim to fame) at launch.

- After an email campaign, a retranslation, apologies, and 7 months of delays, Ys 8 finally got released on PC. And NISA fucked up, the port is so terrible that only 51% of the Steam reviews being positive (it was originally at 25%, but shills will shill). Western and Japanese websites are reporting this story. In other words, a huge backlash. Meanwhile, NISA promised to fix everything. Don't worry, they'll probably be able to fix in a few weeks what they couldn't fix in 1.5 years. Absolutely. Ha.

- Trails of Cold Steel I & II is now on PC through Steam and GOG with gameplay enhancements and newly voiced lines of dialogue.

- Ys Seven ported to PC by XSEED, available now on Steam/GOG/Humble Store

- Zwei!! and Zwei II are finally released on PC by XSEED, available now on Steam/GOG/Humble Store

- Tokyo Xanadu released on PS4/PC with an improved translation, but there are a few issues like slangs, memes and random chtulhu lines.

- Also available on PC: the Trails in the Sky trilogy (now with Turbo mode), Xanadu Next, Ys: I & II Chronicles, Ys VI: The Ark of Napishtim, Ys: The Oath in Felghana and Ys Origin.

>Fan-translations

>Trails from Zero at 70% (being edited by Geofront/Zerk). There is already a beta (as in a rough translation done before Zerk even started working on it) out, though the quality is on the low side, though still coherent from start to finish

>Trails to Azure was leaked. There are a few typos and every once in a while there's an awkward line or two but all in all it's a solid translation. https://www.romhacking.net/translations/3679/. Flame's edit of the translation is also out officially now. It's a better worded script at the cost of pretty much breaking the voice mod. Both are available packaged with torrents if you care to look for them.

>Everything else in the works seems to be MIA.

>Undubs

Hope may seem lost. The shills have mobilized their defenses and are using the fact that Hatsuu as well as others who have worked on trails before have been recruited for Cold Steel 3. Just remember. We do not know the capacity of their work on this game under NISA rule. We do not know exactly when they started working for NISA. If they had started right when this announcement happened or even slightly before, they have to edit and text from the year before assuming NISA had started working on CS3 in 2017. If they had started recently then they only have until fall to finish the game.

What I’m saying is they have not had the time nor will they have the time to do a good job on the translation side of things. Especially not when you take into consideration Cold Steel 3 is the beefiest game in the series. Present facts and logic to defeat the shills. If you are blocked on twatter, show that off to others who will pay attention. Get more voices on our side.

You may get frustrated with the shills, but don’t give up. Don’t give in. Keep fighting. This is the civil war that has been building.

What kind of… hope can a man have? If Sen 3 becomes a successful English tl, there will be nothing we can do about it. If they do an even better and more ambitious release, there are no arguments left to complain about nisa and ask Falcom to go back to a "worse" publisher.

Of course they'll fuck up somehow, but those "what ifs" are too big to ignore. I just wanted to play falcom games. Fuck off NISA, you didn't do shit for Falcom until you realized there was money to be made.

copy-pasting from the gg thread but here's a list of places to mobilize, and some places to contact Falcom once we've got something going

To start with, Falcom's twitter, faceberg and support page seem to be possible contacts:

https://twitter.com/NihonFalcom

Falcom contact form:

https://www.falcom.co.jp/support/index.php?content=support

Japanese Falcom Official Facebook:

http://www.facebook.com/falcom.co.jp

Falcom Instagram:

https://www.instagram.com/nihonfalcom1981/

Places to mobilize:

(Falcom subleddit, its mixed when it comes to anything NISA related, maybe half hate them and the other half hate the people who hate them since they're eager to suck cock. Show lots of evidence, be gentle but firm in your tone since these people are limp-dicked faggots who don't respond well to harsh words)

old.reddit.com/r/falcom

Cuckchan's Falcom general (not linking that one but I assume its on their /vg/)

Gamefaqs and GBATemp (GBA temp is probably one of the best places, Gamefaqs too to gather support)

gamefaqs.please use archive.is

gbatemp.net/threads/nis-america-to-bring-trails-of-cold-steel-iii-west-this-year.529101/

The JRPG subleddit (be more careful with these subleddits, use gentler tones and show lots of evidence of fuckups since they're generally against action and hostility)

old.reddit.com/r/jrpg

Nintendo Switch subleddit (no idea how these people are, they're the ones who bought Ys VIII and lapped it up afaik but there might still be some reasonable people who aren't just eager to eat whatever is on the plate before them)

http://old.reddit.com/nintendoswitch

Perhaps the PS4 subleddit (like all subleddits, you have to be "gentle" with your tone, but firm and clear with lots of evidence since ledditors are naturally against action, the PS4 subleddit even more so)

http://old.reddit.com/r/ps4

The (((Steam))) communities (no idea how helpful they will be, but I'm assuming there will be something of possible value here)

old.reddit.com/r/steam

steamcommunity.com/app/251150/reviews/?browsefilter=toprated (Trails in the Sky steam page, you can also let the Ys and ToCS portions of them know)

Siliconera (eh, lots of normalfags, some NISA cocksuckers but there's still potential if you're "polite" and whatnot, important thing is gathering people)

siliconera . com

Nichegamer, Operationrainfall, OneangryGamer (these will be more sympathetic to action)

http://nichegamer.com/

http://oneangrygamer.net/

http://operationrainfall.com/

A big one is KiA that might be helpful

old.reddit.com/r/kotakuinaction

If you can think of any social media places like faceberg, use those as well.

I hear NISA is hated around here. Something about bugs and rewritten scripts. So then, what are even some good alternatives to NISA? It seems like every western localization company like NISA or Treehouse has a bad rep here.

3133fb  No.16011186

Supposedly NISA hired the translators that worked on 1 and 2. I now want to see how they'll manage to fuck it up (because there is no doubt in my mind that they will) with all these competent people they poached off XSeed.

And considering Tom, cucked as he was, is not around anymore the reign in his colleagues they'll likely pozz the game up as much as possible.

Back in the sticky someone mentioned the falcom email only returned an error message, does anyone know? Not like I could write them in Japanese, though.

I'm just thinking, though, is there much meaning in me telling Falcom I won't be buying their game because of NISA? They won't cancel their contract NOW. But potentially Falcom could open their eyes in time for future titles, I dunno.

Shit sucks, Falcom really fucked up.

242a7c  No.16011196

Has there been any information about the good people that were involved in doing the first two CS PC ports? CS I and II ran fucking beautifully on PC and my main concern with NISA is how little they care about the tech. Ys VIII should have had a launcher, it should have been given the love and attention that a Ys title deserves.

>>16011187

Do it. If Falcom values their western customers are all it will make an impact. I suspect them going with Nisa in the first place was motivated by greed so as long as nisa can deliver on this front (which they seem to have been regardless of quality of product) then I doubt it will have much impact, but there is literally nothing to lose.

PQube, XSEED, Idea Factory International (they're my favorite tbh), Atlus, Sega, Nintendo of Europe, Playism, Play-Asia's english language localizers and to a lesser extent Koei Tecmo and Aksys. They all have some varying degrees of problem, but they're all far better than NISA. Among indies and freelancers there's more but they don't really handle that kind of stuff, places like MangaGamer, Jast and whatnot

>>16011186

Brittany also was anti-censorship (not as vocal as Tom, but still noteworthy), and she certainly won't allow anything to happen to the best of her abilities in terms of censorship in Kiseki. That's pretty much her localization baby.

Though its unknown how much power she has, if any over NISA. Hell we don't even know if she's actually working there for more than a fucking week.

That's what I don't know. The "Localization Producer" part almost sounds like a normal position, but the fact that they specifically pointed out the "freelance editor" part makes me wary, and it sucks that she doesn't have a stronger role in controlling this dumpster fire.

Even if they wanted to make a good translation, which I don't doubt those three at least want to, there's going to be a flood of things holding them back without autonomy, and that tranny translator said specifically that NISA treats their translators like dogshit in general and basically leads their work to ruin

It just sounds like a corporate made-up title to fool people and lure fans into a false sense of security. It's the same shit as calling a paperboy a "Media Distribution Officer", or a booth collector a "Coin Facilitation Engineer".

Hatsuu is actually working. She's doing what she used to do, ie: manages the voice cast. Sean Chiplock confirmed she was the one with him in the booth during the trailer recording, meaning she'll probably keep doing that job. Ryan also confirmed he has been working on editing the script to ensure continuation. Things like Becky staying Scottish. So I'd say saying their positions are entirely token is probably incorrect. The real question is how much have they been involved and we simply can't know yet. I know everyone here want to immediately jump on the "they did nothing and everything is terrible" train but we need evidence before we can say that if we want anyone to listen to us, and no, sadly, NISA's past track record isn't enough. Like I said in the OP, we're going to need evidence that this game is being fucked before we get traction and for that we need information. That's what everyone should be focusing on right now. Follow the twitters of the people involved in the project. Follow NISA. Wait for screenshots and trailers. We need ammo to work with. Until we get those things they can just hide behind these staff appointments and we won't get anywhere.

>Evidence is important no matter what anon

Oh, I agree, if only in principle.

As others have pointed out, if the Ys VIII debacle didn't make Falcom wise up, nothing will. The same fuckwits that have been keeping NISA afloat by buying their garbage will buy this piece of shit too, a bunch more people will likely get burned by NISA and begin opposing them, yet not in numbers big enough to make a substantial difference.

In the end NISA will make a buck, again, and will be free to shit up this franchise, like they did so many others, again. XSEED is likely going to out of business soon enough anyway, considering they've been bleeding staff, haven't had all that many projects, and what staff remains politically compromised.

In the end every single Western release of a niche Japanese game will be shat up by NISA or their leftist colleagues, while Sony does their best to ruin the Japanese home market.

So, while I do view your quest for proof as commendable, I simply don't believe it will do much in the end. We all know what the only real solution here is.

to now after xseed employees being shown

i mean with people like this, shill or not, an industry can get away with slinging shit at your face and knowing at most youll word an email that theyll block and maybe just maybe not buy the game. If people are anything but angry at nisa getting this game, then it simply shows the standards are completely removed from this subset of individuals. To them its not about the quality of a game, its about getting a game right now because they cant wait for someone to put care and effort into the game. People can be as hopeful as they want but i will continue to sit here and tell you the game will never be the same as it once was when you have a company who cant even spell check a tweet or slide for accuracy.

I'm saying what does XSEED's marketing, however poor it may be, have to do with NISA getting this game? They got it because they were able to outbid XSEED, which more had to do with their size and money reserves. (I don't think their marketing is that poor either, seems about average to me for a company. They have only a little less reach than NISA more or less, with more twitter followers but slightly less youtube and facebook subscribers which is pretty impressive given how much smaller they are than them.

Senran Kagura is basically the poster child of fanservice games and has been for a while. NIS America's flagship isn't really more or less well-known than them, and their other IPs can mostly go head to head with each other in terms of name recognition among gamers afaik. I bet tom left to teach because he was tired of translating tit games and having known for some time xseed didnt have cs3 there was no reason to stay. I heard it was NISA outbidding them (straight from Tom iirc), combined with NISA adding in those extras such as the French localization to sweeten the deal. I didn't hear anything about a cheaper cost of localization, which I dont really know what that would have to do with Falcom since NISA wants their contract. A lower cost of localization would affect NISA's earnings, not Falcom's. Then again, I'm not entirely sure what goes into those contracts to begin with.

And yes, I'm tempted to agree with your latter part. This whole thing really pisses me off.

Yeah, but NISA might be going for the Amazon approach. Use their greater capital to take a hit on profits to drive competition out of the business by taking over all their most profitable contracts.

>Unless you're saying they claimed that?

IIRC Falcom didn't like how long it had taken for XSEED to ship out the PC port. It's especially puzzling because Falcom did a lot of their releases in Japan on both PCs and consoles, so they should have some idea of the challenges involved.

I guess if they're dumb enough to trust NISA they're dumb enough to believe they could do a better job of porting the games than XSEED despite all proof to the contrary.

Until Ys 8 has a fixed translation and port I'm not buying or playing any other Falcom titles. What a convenient time since all the upcoming Falcom titles are effectively unplayable while NISA's got their hands on it and the only ones I haven't played were CS2 and onwards, and Ys 8. What great timing.

On a more positive note I really like Nayuta no Kiseki and I think it's an infintely superior game to Ys Seven and Memories of Celceta and I really wouldn't have minded if this was the new Ys gameplay style. Ranged abilities to level up, while melee attacks and techniques are a one time upgrade and you get movement abilities that also serve as dungeon keys. It's pretty well made and the music is excellent. Compare this to say Ys Seven's final dungeon ost(The Place Where Souls Return) and it's even got a superior final dungeon track. Christ what went wrong with Seven and MoC?

I have 0 hope for the localization industry. XSeed isn't known to be shit–yet. Tom and Brittany both gone. Tom, who used to keep the staff in check when it comes to censorship. Tom who stuck to his principals and removed his name from a game release because the game was censored, no matter how hard he tried to fight XSeed staff on the matter.

Those same staff are likely still at XSeed. We don't even know what they would do with a new Falcom game if they got their hands on it. We don't know if the new guy from SEGA will even try to fight them on certain matters.

XSeed is a wildcard as it stands.

NISA has always been shit, and will likely CONTINUE to be shit. Because people are stupid, thinking that this giant corporation is "doing them a favor" or "performing a miracle" for them bringing across the game, so they'll keep paying actual money. Real money. Money that they worked for. For a shitty product. And then defend that product and the company with shit-stained teeth.

There's still Treehouse, Aksys, and whatever shit-pulling localizer there is.

Only SEGA seems pretty much okay, and that's mostly how they handle Yakuza and Persona–Except now we have Sony's gestapo coming in and attempting to get games censored on both developer and localization level.

Apparently even the new Catherine release had to dance around it.

You think if Falcom opened a branch in the west, it'll be okay? Especially now? The first people in the door and sitting in their offices will be the ones who defended Fire Emblems' translations, call censorship "localization" to excuse it, and tried to pull down Persona 5's.

Even if NISA dies, that won't be the end; their "talent" will spread all across the industry and infect more companies. At least now they're concentrated in one place.

I will admit that part of me wants to give in like >>16012633 said. I love the series. I want to continue it and keep playing it until it finally ends. The other part of me is telling me not to give them a cent.

My only hopes are that somehow Falcom realizes that giving them CS3 before seeing how Ys VIII was released/received was a mistake, and they don't get CS4. But given how easily they got both Ys VIII and CS3, tells me that obtaining CS4 will be just as easy.

I'm sorry for this. I just wanted to rant that I'm feeling pretty hopeless.

Well, if they die as a result of their reputation causing their games to flop, it would put a damper on anyone wanting to hire their employees

As for CS4, I guess we'll see but I don't have a good feeling about it.

Either way, you should never give up hope. Things can and will get better.

Its probably autism but i just find how stupid this language is with its many symbols and cant help but feel drawn towards deciphering it. If youre not willing to go this far due to sheer autism, then simply deal with the nisa translation and either remove your interest from falcom games or lower your standards. There may be a lot of outcry from anons but i would say its a safe bet that this relationship between falcom and nisa is here to stay. Xseed is a titty translator now and everyone else will never see these games.

It sucks but when you realize the overwhelming majority has already been satisfied hearing the xseed translators are "working" on this game it just meand theres enough normalfags buying it to not care. Companies like nisa and falcom arent your enemies so much as normalfags are. Normalfags are the sole contributors to these shitty ports. Their line of "at least its finally coming out in the west, be grateful you asshole" is basically what kills the hope of nisa never getting a kiseki game again. And when you reply with "well id prefer quality especially in a kiseki game" they just blab on about as long as the core story is understandable, mistakes are passable. Maybe the few of us on 8/v/ nihon general are the only ones who want as close to perfection as we can get. Yes, many translators are shit, but in large literary projects like vidya, they're also at the mercy of project managers, editors, coordinators and, in the case of vidya, programmers and testers. That means that even if you are a great translator yourself, it won't mean much if company policies are so bad that no one has time to proofread or bug test the game before launch. NISA is exactly like that, and from the looks of it, translators are often given insane deadlines and I'm assuming equally awful pay (since she's freelance, though, it could be that she negotiated a better price, but even so). I recall the Danganronpa people had like 3 or months to translate the first two games back to back. It shows.

At least for the PC port of Ys VIII, over a thousand japs reamed them which is very high given how few japs there are, and fewer who care about niche games like this, and normally there would be fewer to make such a loud outcry about it. The fact that so many were so vocal at least speaks to some real anger there.

Don't wait for Geofront's "superior" edit.

NISA is interested in the Crossbell games as well. It's a matter of time.

Don't get played, as usual with these translations.

The NORM for them is to get ==coverged== this way through peer pressure and extreme hostility against anyone competing with the "official fantranslation" (stupid useful idiots from the fanbase who think they're convincing translators not to "waste effort" reinventing the wheel), and then for the infiltrated translation groups to get it cancelled from the inside and go after any member of the group who wants it released anyways (Final Fantasy Type-0, Fire Emblem Fates retranslation…)

See

>Trails to Azure was leaked.

>Flame's edit of the translation is also out officially now.

See here? Azure was already "claimed", by "THE" "official translation project". Flame ruined the fun. Just like he was "rude" not cancelling his menu patch for Brandish and released it anyways when Xseed was already starting to tease it, and the "translation scene" went after him. He is a very problematic modder so his projects must be discouraged from.

The way his project is "broken forever"? It's incompatible with a voice mod from the shitty Evo version that wasn't even included in the original game.

She's less SJW than most of the other localizers in the industry, though she is still a leftist.

XSEED keeping her on a leash though is laughable, the rest of XSEED is definitely not better than she is, there are plenty of worse people at XSEED than her, like their current localization lead iirc, Ryan Graff is far worse and is more like a typical SJW.

Overall she's good and generally keeps her politics quiet and to herself compared to most SJWs and localizers in the industry. She's around the same level as Tom in terms of goodness for XSEED, and she's got a lot of passion for Falcom games (especially Trails). She's about the only good thing going for this whole shit situation right now, and afaik she never inserted politics into any localization.

I did not hear about this, but XSEED isn't known for doing that kind of detrimental bullshit. When they add shit in or change anything they do their best to make sure its a positive thing. For example with Zwei: The Arges Adventure, they managed to contact the original artist to draw some artwork CGs as a reward for a collectible in the game that formerly gave nothing as a reward.

Any time there's controversy, a good way to distract from the main issue is to cry threats (crying harassment is similar). Back in the day and even now it's a successful tactic to divert scrutiny away from the people who are the issue to the people who are criticizing, with an extra dose of guilt by association to boot.

It always plays out this way:

>controversy

>person or thing get's the brunt of the criticism

>person or thing cries threats

>the topic shifts from the person or thing that deserves criticism to the people criticizing, placing all responsibility on them for stuff they didn't do

The issue is that the supposed threats are not relevant to the discussion. Even if we were to agree that a threat was issued, it has nothing to do with what most people are complaining about. Yet this tactic is supposed to make them the main point of the topic. It's usually very successful in doing that. It's also successful in making the those criticizing somehow responsible for these supposed threads even though the controversy is not about them at all and to lessen the validity of those criticisms.

This doesn't even get into the fact that the threats likely don't exist. A constant in all these controversies that try to play this tactic is that they never reproduce, document, point out, or even hint where this supposed threat came from, the nature of the threat, the legitimacy of it or how it was delivered. This is done because had they done so, the threat, if it exists, would likely be seen as the nothing bullshit it is. But they need a narrative, so just listen and believe that a threat was delivered! It's transparent and easy to spot after all these years of people doing it.

I want to wait for the best product possible, an unedited translation is usually pretty rough. "Playable" isn't really much of an excuse for it. It being better than NISA is irrelevant, since anything and everything is better than NISA. They are quite literally the worst localization company.

b48fa7  No.16049826

>>16049710

It's really not that bad, there are a handful of awkward lines in the encyclopedia worth of dialogue and some spelling errors here and there. You're basically waiting for the attention whores behind the project to toss in their shitty memes and run a spellchecker. Also it's free.

If you don't care about waiting you're fine I guess, but if you're freaking out for the wait just play it. I honestly prefer a basic script over a meme'd/localized one that these groups like to do.

It just drives me nuts hearing people cry about not being able to play Zero/Ao when you can do that right now.

4c1bbf  No.16050038

>>16049826

That's fair I suppose. I don't mind basic translations if I don't have any other real options, but here I have a chance to wait for a more polished product to come out. The main problem I would have with basic translations is, depending on the translator how close it would come to machine-tier or really rough translations. What's more is that I assume there might be important and subtle changes in wording and whatnot to reference the heavy lore of the kiseki games that might be lost in a basic translation if its done without care to that aspect of it.

>Free

Yes, but so are all fanslated games and most games in general really :^)

>waiting for the attention whores to toss in their memes and run a spellchecker

I'd hoped they'd polish things like sentence structure, any awkwardness of dialogue or "quirks" in the translation and whatnot. Are they really known for inserting their memes and (((localizing)))?

I found a couple spots in Ao during sidequests that are poorly worded, but that's without using Flame's edit. There is a patch included in the nyaa version to put in the Flame's edit but it messes up how the spoken dialogue lines up with the text so I didn't use it. The terminology/lore is spot on, and there isn't really anything that seems like it's out of google translate.

I don't think these guys are cartel-tier memesters but they've had a lot of drama between each other over the years (hence the leaks and slow progress) and what is available right now is actually quite good. b48fa7  No.16054645

>>16054526

I think a lot of what they do right involves attention to detail. These games have "simple" graphics but they're used to the fullest. Some characters have action sprites that are used once in the entire game, homes have nice details like decor and appliances instead of just a table and some chairs. Go outside a snowy town in CS and you see snow shovels and places where kids play in the snow.

Squeenix games have graphics that cost millions but they have bland, lifeless towns with colorful shit thrown around for the fuck of it. Go into a home and you see an empty table with one picture on the wall. Maybe a random bookshelf.

Same with the storytelling. Kiseki builds a living, breathing world with major events and politics that influence the lives of the characters, other JRPGs are a convoluted clusterfuck of nonsense attempting to be DEEP or just some cookie cutter fantasy trash that's been beaten to death.

Kiseki gameplay has a unique magic/skill system with lots of customization and level scaling that prevents/discourages players from powerleveling and stomping everything without any thought. Even on normal difficulty you can't just brute force major fights. Craft spamming is Kiseki combat at its crudest and it's still better than other games that let you kill a boss by using regular attacks and healing just because you bought current gear and fought all the enemies on the way to the fight.

These games are made by people that give a shit.

abd51b  No.16054663

>>16054611

I really think that the general consensus of "good" can't always be trusted. Maybe among certain niche groups, but then you have to account for the tastes of that specific group. Or maybe the 90/10 rule can be applied recursively, such that within the 10% there is a top 10% that makes 90% of that 10% look like shit by comparison, and Falcom has a knack for landing in there.

Not that anything you've said is wrong but I've got a beef to pick with Kiseki combat and it's not the way Falcom handles it, but I just feel the whole foundation is broken from the start and I cannot fathem how or why anyone would keep using the absurdly simplified turn based formula for JRPGs. Wild Arms 3 had some good shit. Lufia 2's magic system had some good shit. Kingdom Hearts was an interesting idea. Hell even something like Resonance of Fate was also pretty interesting. Just have something that's actually fun to play instead of giving me a fast forward button that I kept held for pretty much the entirety of cold steel.

I think Kiseki had some great enjoyable bosses and has a fair amount of things over any generic turn based JRPG. But at the end of the day it's still the same fucking garbage dumbed down turn based shit that is actively hurting the game. I'm not asking for Ys or Xanadu levels of gameplay here but like give me something that doesn't make me groan every time I'm in a non boss encounter.

Truth be told I don't remember much of Lufia 2 besides playing it to 100% years ago. It just played really good, had great puzzles and had one of the best optional dungeons I had played in an rpg.

Wild Arms 3, I loved how fast you could go through the battle menus and a lot of the encounters were really well made. Otherwise it was set in a futuristic old west setting and I loved it for that.

Kingdom Hearts,

Resonance of Fate, it was difficult, it has a lot of resource management and it was a pretty cute way of handling turn based combat that actually benefited from the game being turn based, instead having it for the sake of having it.

Unless you mean the CP, which came out after he died and I don't see why they would need to lie about that since he's dead already. I get the allegations being fake and the conspiracy against him by corporates wanting his fat cash but why after he died?

On the flip side it asks the question of "where was this when he was on trial?"

I don't know, but I do know that everyone in Hollywood only ever have their worst get revealed AFTER they die.

Sure it could be fake. It also could not be. Doesn't change the fact that he was a creep.

But I guess since he made good music (he did), called out Jews at some point and dumped on the media (who doesn't?) he's not a creep. Everything he did to his own face wasn't creepy, his behavior wasn't off, etc.

It's creepy, it's ghoulish, it's highly unnerving to flash your kid so dangerously just to show off your pride and joy to fans and/or paparazzi (which he hated, not fans).

Dude was a creep, anon, not some victim. If he was a victim he'd have named names, wouldn't he? He would have outed degenerates and abusers around him for what they were doing (which they alleged he was doing). Or do you seriously think he never knew of any rapists, child abusers, etc. despite that being epidemic in Hollywood?

Was Michael Jackson a pedophile? I don't know. He might not have been and he might have been. Plenty of things cast doubt on it, but was he a creep? Yes.

>Trump trusted Jackson… Trump has put away more pedos in jail than most Presidents.

Jeffery Epstein. Lolita Express. Roy Cohn.

Who's the newfag?

Hatsuu has health issues so she's taking a break from working on Sen3, she said she doesnt know if she'll even return to working on it

Obviously I'm not going to say she should work on it despite her health, but what an amazing turn of events, less than a month after NISA apologists tried to save face by saying she's working on it, she departs the project

bee8dd  No.16069682

>>16069674

NISA is known to treat their own employed translators like shit.

I wouldn't be surprised if they treat their freelancers like Hatsuu even worse. I have a feeling that had to do with this.

Someone should find out if this is a for-sure, definite departure though. We'd be able to push out the news far and wide.

It actually seems like it was external factors this time, plus her cat's death and all.

She claims NISA was actually treating her well.

She was NISA's ticket to get shit-free this time, so no wonder, we'll see how they act when the game is actually out and whether its fucked up or not, if they as much as dare to hide behind her after her departure from project and butchering the game, Im fucking done

b36eec  No.16071642

>>16069674

no surprise here. the game will be a mess as we've seen from their presentations. Her being on the team didnt matter. Just go re-read this entire thread and this endless mistakes that nisa makes. Either play them in their original language or enjoy some butchered mess of a game. Not even sure why people hyped her existence up as she was considered freelance.

95daca  No.16071652

>>16069691

She'll be under NDA until at least 6 months after the release of CS3 if not longer. Considering she probably still wants to work in the industry there's no way she's going to shit talk with that threat over her head regardlesss. I could all be true for all we know but I know what I would bet on being closer to the truth.

Honestly we have the sen3 and 4 spreadsheets, if we can just grab a few people willing to re-edit the script, fix typos, translation mistakes , rephrase thigns as needed, it would probably be fairly easy to insert the fixed text into the game, granted it will last a VERY LONG FUCKING WHILE due to the sheer size of the games, but its doable

All of this is assuming we get a PC port
