Depends on what you want to be honest. There are plenty of good FPS f2p games that are unfortunately underpopulated and more often than not, left as is with a stable build and all it needs. I agree with the anon that games don't need constant updates but unfortunately the common faggot sees a barely updated game and thinks it's not worth his time.

If you want a "decent" fps that's also somewhat populated, F2P and gets constant updates you have no where else to look but CRAPCUNTS but I honestly cannot recommend one in good faith, coming from someone who had played and enjoyed Paladins in the past. No I didn't pay a dime.

Bottom line is, keep playing DB or Blacklight all you want until you're sick of it.

Yes. It was the best F2P FPS out there when it came out for a long time. But then it started getting hackers, lootboxes, OC donut steel hero characters, etc.

I really enjoyed Dirty Bomb, but I haven't played in a long time. Shame this will probably tank the userbase. Brink multi was a good time too when it had players.

I also enjoyed Battlefield Heros even if it was halfway pay to win. EA really screwed the pooch by jewing those microtransactions though.

It is still obnoxious to take a break from the game and come back to see that your entire inventory expired (and be reminded that you can replace this loss with your credit card). And it doesn't help that such items are often explicitly pay to win, so what using in-game currency does is give you a taste of what you can have if decide to spend real money on something even better. Like how cosmetics that you bought with in-game currency in S4 league that gave "only" 8 or so HP, enough to survive an extra shot from most weapons. To me, it's the full price games that degenerated enough to finally adopt these tactics, there never was a good excuse for them even when only free games used them.

you could offload some of that if you sneak it in during development to plan ahead, most don't. in a better timeline we'd also get engine open source (without the assets, but those are free anyway) so people can fix/port it etc.
