About the only thing this thing has going for it is anti-aliased backwards compatibility and Rare Replay, which is the same thing. I just bought a 360 for $30 to replace my old one and if that ever breaks I'll buy an Xbone for the same price.

Xbone ain't got games, it's best exclusives were ODST remastered running at 60fps but they cucked the music and easter eggs in a later patch, and sunset overdrive, which got a W10 port a few months ago.

the explanation I've always heard was that due to how similar the xbox architecture is to a normal PC, MS goes above and beyond on the security measures because otherwise it would theoretically be much easier to crack than other consoles. It's effectively the difference between trying to open a puzzle box and an actual safe

The only reason I had any interest sparked was backwards compatibility but if there's not enough interest it's not going to happen. The fucking Vita got some real love thanks to its hackers and that, for its time, actually had a pretty impressive security system. It took several years before the pirates figured it out, especially amazing after the PSP and the PS3 (in fairness the latter was not broken by design and actually got fixed).

That said some differences they did made it annoyingly hard to emulate, and there is still no good XBOX emulator. Microsoft also learned a lot from it and the Xbox360 actually managed to be pretty damn secure too.

I think it really is just too hard to crack open. Hypervisor was nearly perfect with the 360.

You can also just buy yourself access to the Dev mode with the Xbox One, you just have to sign up for it and pay like 20$ for them a month and you can install whatever you want on your machine, including shit like emulators.

Well PSVR is half the price of Oculus or Vive. Entire thing is the most affordable VR and PS4 actually has a lot of VR exclusives. You also won't really need to buy separate headset for PC because obviously someone already made it compatible with SteamVR.

Shit is pretty good deal in terms of hardware. The only problem here is shit that is VR games are 20-30$ and only 3h but question was what I wanted to pirate.

I am skipping costs of PS4 because PS4 Pro is actually cheaper than top tier GPU nowadays and I have no idea how good GPU you need for VR games on PC or if regular PS4 is enough.

Smash is a fun game even if its just smash 4+. You can say that really for most of the first party games on the switch. That and it's a nice portable machine for emulation thanks to the joycons. Its a shame splatoon requires nintenqueer online alongside of their other online titles. Its also a shame you are forced to give Nintendo money to get a switch which is also a shame ;^)

also i don't really give a shit about piracy anymore and i imagine a lot of other people feel the same. i was only really into it when i had a decent pc or wanted to play emulated games on a handheld.

now we have plenty of powerful emulator-centered handhelds, pc piracy is as good as ever, and the only upside to consoles this gen is convinience, which isn't a huge incentive to crack them.

i only have consoles now because it's easier to go to the store and buy a disc than it is to download the contents of said disc on my shitty internet connection.

it's not like it was in the days of the dreamcast when piracy was more convinient and you could just buy blanks and burn any game you wanted, or like the 360/ps2 days when you could just install a hard drive and download the still relatively small sized games to it.

homebrew/back up loading has generally improved across the board. It's pretty smooth sailing and most try to avoid shit like what had to be done with PSP batteries and Xbox Hot swapping. It's usually just software based.

I feel this so much. Aside from some online-only games that are still much better off waiting for a PC port or an emu port, I don't find myself wanting any new consoles or games.

Probably the only three games worth trying are Smash Ultimate (but only as a roster upgrade since we already know that Melee + Project M are the ultimate smash experience and just going full MUGEN is stupid if there's no care in who gets in), Mario Odyssey (because that game was genuinely good and worth replaying, probably the last game I've played where I felt that even though it wasn't 64 all over again I still got my bucks' worth) and Splatoon 2 (and even then it's a really shitty sequel).
