I don't really have a game like that

I've played some great games, but few that I can replay or play at any time and feel good; I prefer to play many games that are new to me than to replay a few games many times. Multiplayer games already ruined me and made me regret so much time lost on them with this, I don't want to repeat that again.

I've still got my PS1 Spyro games, which are pretty damn cozy as always (aside from some parts, like the alchemist in 2), but these days I tend to save those for burnout cure rather than just the comfy factor, and work more through my backlog otherwise.

GTA.

Even back in the days of GTA1's shareware version (post-crack), I just like relaxing and getting into mindless mayhem. Or sometimes I just zone out and follow the flow of traffic while obeying all of the traffic rules.

In GTA V's case, flying around in a biplane or going on boat rides is nice too, or getting together with a few bros and doing follow-the-leader drifts around town while listening to tunes.

>comfy games

Replaying, Dark Souls, Super Mario Bros. and Monster Hunter are a few of my go to games to play when I just want to relax. In fact most games that you might assume comfortable because they are easy are often not as comfy because of the lack of necessary engagement to stimulate that zen like state. That is not to also say that hard games are comfy but rather the state achieved after mastering a game you are familiar with is comfy and that level of mastery and familiarity only comes from games that are initially adequately challenging. Its that same comfort someone gets after mastering a fair but challenging arcade classic to the point they can almost one coin clear. Older games tend to fall into this category more so then new games and often its these old games that are initially have seemingly stiff controls that often become the most comfy in time because the rigidity leads to reliability. The rigid jump form Castlvania comes to mind, stiff and unforgiving but reliable and definite, something that would punish a sloppy new player but bring comfort to the veteran who has grown accustomed to its dependability.

Insurgency. I've been looking for an online FPS to replace it but after a while I just came back to it. It's too solid to replace with some garbage F2P shooter and there's surprisingly little else in terms of online FPS games.

Used to be mine too, but I haven't played it in a year now. It became a bit too much of the same old thing. Told myself I'd boot it up again if a new version came out, but it has joined the league of NEVER EVER alongside Gunslinger.

Alien: Isolation. I mean that as uncomfortable in the literal sense, not "bad"
