Puzzle League is god tier but it's not a Tetris descendant at all.

I think the more innovative puzzle games of the '90s were roundly superior to the falling blocks style of Tetris, but I supposed Tetris Blast is probably my favorite of the Tetris descendants.

I've been enjoying Tetris Effect with my headphones on, but wish it wasn't such a grind to get to the higher levels and their rewards. I also like that rotated pieces are reoriented right-side up when placed.

My Nigger. What a fucking blast to play it on my DSLite at University between classes

Also, not a Tetris descendant at all, but I fucking loved playing Wario's Woods on the SNES with my brothers, and beating the bosses in story mode felt rewarding as fuck. I can't recommend it enough.

Fever and Tetris are the worst of the Puyo series. Classic is the finest and Puyo Puyo 20th anniversary was the best game ever made in the series.
