Since the title starts with a number and it's usually the first thing I see in my ROM folder, I've been playing 8 eyes, lately. It's a Castlevania clone where you play as a falconer who commands his own animal buddy to catch items in the air or attack tiles in the wall that you couldn't reach with your rapier.
It's a neat concept but it's hampered by the limited amount of buttons (I have the instruction manual attached that tells you how to command the bird, pdf related. It's worth reading for the "Other Enemies" section alone). I'm grateful that it's not a flight simulator like Airwolf where you can't pause the game because START accelerates your helicopter so you can't pause the game.
I wouldn't somebody making a remake of this game because the player sprite is so lacking in detail that I thought he was just a guy in a tunic with an oversized hood and the game takes place in 1920 at the latest it's actually supposed to take place in a post-apocalyptic future and he's supposed to be wearing protection against radiation; I bet I could get the rights to them if I trade them for a pig that won a blue ribbon at a county fair.
