I remember playing lots of Colin Mcrae Rally 2005+ but I've never played any of the colin mcrae games. It seems that Dirt series is a continuation of the series, I've picked up Dirt Rally. It seems really great but it's also hard as hell. It would be a lot easier if I had a steering wheel since I can't make pinpoint steerings with controller.

How is Dirt 4? Still shit? Any other rally games to play?

Partly, it's more Colin McRae was less relevant due to that looser Ken Block becoming popular for doing stunt driving (certainly not his rally driving). So for DiRT 3 they dropped the Colin McRae name but they still have stuff in reference to him.

If you're expecting to play like Dirt Rally, yes.

Richard Burns Rally still has an active modding scene around it. Assetto Corsa, while focused on circuit racing, has several mods for rally cars/tracks. Dirt Rally 2 is coming out next year.

Highly recommend getting a wheel if you can, it makes racing sims so much more fun.
