I'd been wanting the PS2 version since finding out the PS3, Wii, and PS4 versions were all missing the loading minigames and the original credits theme because Capcom is too fucking cheap to re-license the latter. As for Magic Pengel, yeah, it's not exactly one that's commonly around, but its sequel, Graffiti Kingdom, seems more well known, if also still not especially popular or easy to come across. And yes, the games let you make cockmonsters to fight for you.
>$12 for 5 good games that have their cases and booklets is a steal regardless.
Yeah, I'm not saying that's anything to be complaining about, and honestly better than pawn shops here are apt to have, just that they're not especially ones I would consider to be beyond pawn-shop tier. Mostly because here pawn shops are just a dumping ground of ultra common games, licensing stuff, shovelware, and SPOATS. I honestly barely even bother with them in comparison to other places here, because they always just have a handful of nothing.
>Interesting. It's usually the opposite here. The two weeks leading too Christmas the local retro gaming store and all the second hand stores get drained of their stock.
That is also a facet, but again, it's offset a bit by people making trade-ins due to time crunch. I'll admit it's a matter of store type and luck though, multimedia places might just be more apt to get good stuff in that time of year simply because they offer a wider array of things, and store credit from games doesn't have to still go back out for the trader as more games.
>Finding deals in my area in general is hard, though. A lot of trust-fund kids and yuppie game collectors that have the time/money to scour all the local second hand stores multiple times week makes it hard when I only have Saturday (when everyone else is out as well). Same thing with CL. I think a lot of this is due to the retro game boom in general, though.
It's a matter of patience, perseverance in looking, and no small amount of luck. I try to check Wednesday and Saturday evenings while already out doing errands. A lot of the time there's nothing of interest, but every so often I get something nice I usually didn't expect (not so much as buying on impulse, but just not expecting to ever see at a remotely decent price). Chain I check also has a website as well which lists what stores are reporting having what, but it's also just fun to get out and see for yourself what's where, since there's plenty I wouldn't think to check per day, and some stuff might get in and go back out before it's even in the system. I'm still hoping find a cheap, complete copy of Gotcha Force there. After what I've managed before, I'd like to consider it possible.
>Damn man, that's a nice haul.
Sample of what can happen around here. But more often I'll only come away from a trip with one game, if any, and even that was from two outings during the season.
