<J.B. Harrold
7 episode detective VN series set in North America, written in English first, yet mostly JP only or with chaotic english releases. Made by Riversoft, who went bust after Blue Chicago Blues and most of its staff joined then CING who worked on Hotel Dusk, Another Code and more VNs for the DS (all translated), then Chase on 3DS after they too went bust.
>1- Murder Club
English translation available on PC-Engine (uncut), has truncated home computer conversions
Also (no translation) on DS (remake)
>2- Manhattan Requiem
English translation available on obscure LaserDisc addons, and iOS/Android/Switch multilingual versions never released outside Japan
Also (no translation) on DS (remake)
>2.5- Kiss of Death
Spinoff of Manhattan Requiem, no translation, part of the DS remake of 2
>3- DC Connection
No translation.
>4- Blue Chicago Blues
Audio only English translation, only in full on an obscure Mac version (also ported truncated on Saturn). Rumored English text version.
>Three more episodes for Japanese phones
<Jake Hunter
Long running VN detective series.
>Originals on Famicom
>Continued on PS1 onwards with original games, still ongoing
>Mobile episodic series begun with reimagining/remake of Famicom games, then original content for 24 episodes
>DS/3DS has a series of ports for all of the mobile episodes, 5 at a time
>PSP and Switch got (besides original games) a best of compilation from the mobile episodes too
Only three games localized.
1- DS: First game in the mobile remake series that had the very first cases in the series from Famicom remade. Badly translated, then rereleased again with a different name.
2- 3DS: Last game in the mobile remake series
3- Switch: Daedalus, an original (TBA, but leaked)
<Detective Conan vs Kindaichi on DS
Dumb, short, fanservice plot, but has its moments.
Has a serviceable fan translation.
<Famicom Detective Club
Nintendo series. 3 games, only remake of 2 on snes translated but good.
Fun fact: came at a time most nintendo games had hidden horny easter eggs (checking boobs in marvelous, checking pants in retsu and go / super mario rpg, nudity hidden in level design in yoshi's island and kirby dreamland 2…) but this time it involved the skirt of a corpse.
