If you've only done the druid part then head south. There is a quest in the Coldwood area that I am totally gonna rip off for a one shot. It's about two brothers and everything that could go wrong did, and then you have to play the judge. watch out for the fucking bodak tho

Play a cleric with knock and 10 str

The engine don't support any more +12 on any stat at any time, so you can go to 22 (+12) with extended divine might and maximized bull strenght and decimate the whole room with the 'better fighter' build that takes 0 points in fighter

Any amount of weapon specialization feats can be replaced with that level 1 spell that gives +1/+1 every X levels. I think it stops at +5/+5 at lv15, which outperforms about 6 feats together.

Unfortunately the enchantments to weapon/armor/shield only goes to +5, so it will fall off at lv20~ on the expansions

I think only the instant-killing-crit is the only melee build can outperform a cleric leveling as a melee, and it takes quite a while to reach that point

It has more lewd content, as in adventure modules but the mods are quite different as Oblivion has more systemic content where there's mechanics for getting raped and it can happen anywhere and at any time, Neverwinter Nights has modules which are self contained adventures and plenty of those have lewd content. So it's a pear and apples kind of thing since they're entirely different in the type of mods.

I only play with cheat engine and the speed set to 2 times or 1.5 times.

Really saves time on walking and stupid shit like unlocking and resting.

Cleric/Bard is stupidly OP. You get feats on every 3rd level, so you want to do Cleric1>Bard1>Cleric2 (perk here) > Bard2-3>Cleric3-4>Bard, the idea is to pick up Cleave, Divine Might and Divine Shield. Divine Might/Shield give you +1 divine dmg and +1AC that stacks with everything per CHA bonus for CHA bonus duration. If you have 30 CHA, you get +15dmg and +15AC for 15 rounds, with an amount of charges based on your CHA bonus. BRD has some pretty decent self-buffing spells on top of BRD songs being really good. Human is probably your best bet for the free feat and extra skill point. You could also do the same thing with Paladin/Bard and get the saving throw bonus. You can also round up the build with Blackguard or Red Dragon Disciple, especially once you get your epic bard feats for Lasting Inspiration (makes your song last 100 rounds).

Smiting Paladin is also pretty strong. You can do the Divine Might/Shield thing here too and your Smite Evil melts evil enemies, while your Lay on Hands will 1 shot most undead bosses. You're basically a slightly weaker fighter that gets to buff up for bosses.

My main gripe with the game is that everything is really fucking slow. Movement is slow, combat is slow, looting is slow, opening locked things is really slow, resting is really slow. On top of that, the game itself is mediocre - expansion packs don't help. It manages to replicate 3.5e ruleset decently enough, but doesn't do anything with it. Everything is generic as fuck and there is no depth to anything. It's really sad because playing an epic level character sounds good on paper, but because everything is so fucking slow and below average there's just no reason to.

I've always been kinda interested in Neverwinter since I accidentally downloaded a book about designing quests for it. The general rule is to avoid Beamdog's version at all costs, right, but what if I just want to get my feet wet with the game without a lotta modding fuss?

You don't need any mods to start off. The three big official expansion packs provide 100+ hours of content. The main campaign is decent, Shadows of Undrentide is good and Hordes of the Underdark is great.

Installing the game

First, you actually want to get NWN, so go torrent NWN Diamond edition from Piratebay or something, this is generally the one you want, you don't want to piss about wuth DLing NWN stanalone then the expansions.

Win7 user will have trouble with installastion, so you need to follow this guide in order to ensure you don't mess up:

You may also suffer from issues involving non playing cutscenes in the start of campaign chapers when playing or chrome/silver skin at character creation.

The chrome skin issue is usually fixed by simply installing the critical rebuild 1.69 patch found here:

The non playing cutscene issue is caused by a number of different problems, but the first thing you must do is install Bink, found here:

Additionally, disable the shiny water option sound ingame, it's a shit, causes savegame bloat and crashes.

Now that you've pretty much installed NWN Diamond edition patched it and made sure you've got no issues, It's time to install the Premium modules, which you can find here:

Community patches/gameplay improvements

A community patch for all those nasty bugs 1.69 didn't fix.

Also will merge data in you .2da folders togther rather tha overrite if you place them in a folder and run a batch file, so it works with just about anything, includign any installations of the PRC or other modifications you may have installed.

Lastly, there's the PRC, which is a mod that injects a buttload of D&D 3.5 classes and a shitload of other stuff for choice at character creation, amongst other things, such as sub-races that if you name at the begining of character creation, will be seen as their own race.

Before installing the PRC (And most mods anyway) you want this:

NWNCX extends what NWN can actually do, and is needed to select the PRC base classes at character creation.

Lastly you want something called Leto 1.69 PRC edition I think, for editing PRC characters and stuff.

Honestly, this is taken from an old guide I wrote on the subject as much has changed on the modding scene since then, as we now have a working mod manager that works in the same fashion as the Mod organiser for bethesda games, which is a godsend compared to drag'n drop Override files to NWN1.

There'd be more links to mods here, but they were all to the old neverwinter vault, whcih shut down and changed to a new site, so they no longer work, and their search engine is piss, so it's hard to fidn the old stuff.

Anyhow, the basic stuff you want is the game fully patched with cutscenes working then the community patch, the PRC being optional if you want it, as you have things like the CEP needed for Custom created modules to play, or persistant servers and whatever.

One more thing, most moduels want these massive fuckass collections of assets, one called the CEP, and the other Project q.

Get both, and also get the CEP 2.1 (An older version) as some modules use it, such as a Hunt through the dark, a popular series of Drow modules.

Oh right, and put the game's .exe's in compatiblity. for windows XP and run as Admin, that's one of the most important things.

There's also a Mod manager for installing mods now, which you can find on the nexus, it's a bit buggy now, but the author is open to bug report submissions.

It's a lot better than the manual method, anyhow.

And just for posterity, the selling points of that module include but are not limited to slut pryde post BG2 Imoen that's totally not a self insert. I mean that really counts for something seeing his story is five parts latching on to DwtR, two parts anime character tropes and three parts tumblr fetishes.

The problem is that piratefags are stuck using the same CD key as other piratefags who got it from the same source. Servers will only allow one CD key to be in use by a connected player, so piratefags who share the same CD key will be denied access by the server if someone is already connected using that key.
