Nero was made to be a younger crude punk for a newer generation of fans to come into the series with, and to contrast the Veteran Dante, and it worked, DMC4 was the highest selling DMC game.
What was retarded is that now that Nero was introduced and DMC4 ended with some lingering questions (you gotta wait for the artbook to tell you Vergil is Nero's dad, and we still don't know who fucked Vergil)
They decided to reboot the series and replace Dante with Donte who is meant to fulfill the exact same roll that Nero just had, only now you no longer have that Veteran character who longtime fans keep coming back for.

I would talk about CUHRAYZE but my limited time playing the demo made me never want to go back to a Nero with no Devil Breakers, so I really am just waiting for 5 at this point.
I plan to boot up DMC4 again and go for broke with Dante, though I like the style switcher I've never managed to adapt to it very well and with Dante's 3 weapon cycle instead of 2 weapons like in DMC3 I always end up losing my place and fuck up. So I do plan to try to get comfortable with him before the release of 5.
I hope they improve Dante's taunts in 5, that's the only disappointing thing about Dante in DMC4, coming from Nero's crazy taunts just makes Dante feel much more mundane than he really is, it's my only complaint about him in 4.
Also for anyone who played the demo, how the fuck do you reload Blue Rose without letting it fire off afterwords? You need to hold it to reload but when I would let go of it I would end up firing a shot, is it a timing thing?
